I started writing my first book (ebook) (1st part (1/2)

"A good book is not one that thinks for you, but one that makes you think."

James McCosh - Scottish philosopher

Hello, howdy. I have something very important to share with you. I could have kept it to myself and only announced it when I know it's a foregone conclusion. But the truth is that I don't want to keep it to myself, I want to share it with you who follow me in my social networks. Because I want you to be part of this, I want you to be a witness of this personal project and its progress. So much I want you to be part of it, that I publicly authorize you to scold me and push me to move forward or resume if I seem to procrastinate. What I want to announce is that:

I am going to publish my first book

I've already started writing it. I have the premise, the objective and some proposals for the name. It will be a fiction book, but not a fantasy one; in fact it will be very real and I intend to achieve with it what McCosh says in the sentence with which I started this post: I want to make you think. At least, I want to try.

Many people, when someone says he wants to become an author, think: "What does he think he thinks he can write a book? " "Does he think he is superior to the rest? ". (I confess that in the past I have thought this way). It is a valid opinion, but somewhat absurd, because a book is not synonymous of superiority, nor of prominence. Nor does it make me a master or someone enlightened. For me, writing is how Oscar Wilde, the the famous Irish writer, saw it:

"There are only two rules for writing: have something to say and say it".

And I always have something to say I really am an unstoppable verbiage machine. To make it sound nicer, I'm very loquacious, and although I'm not a talker by nature, when I'm given the ropes, I let loose without stopping. The same thing happens to me when I write: I do it with passion, almost without stopping, word after word, and "blah, blah, blah". (if you understood the reference, you're from my era). Precisely that tendency to verbosity, has brought me problems, in my personal life, at work and in social networks. And it's not that I speak or write without thinking (although sometimes I do), it's that I think it but I still express it and sometimes it's better to keep quiet. But well, that's another story.

See you in the second part of this post. Thanks for reading.

hello @garybilbao
It is good news and I am very happy for you, it is certainly a first step of many that you will surely take, always when reading a book the best thing is to get caught and that gives you many ranges to continue reading it.

Congratulations for starting a project as writing a book. I also intend to in the future. You have a smooth control of grammar. I think you'll write a great book. Thanks for sharing!
