With Success Comes Sacrifice
If anyone had told you that anything comes freely in our universe, then you should erase that thought from your mind because contrary to your wishful thinking, nothing comes for free, everything comes at a cost. If you want to be successful, you need to know that you will pay a price and since not everyone can pay this price, then it should be no surprise that not everyone can be successful as well as become rich. To get rich, a lot of people have sacrificed a lot of things, some not really cool and some, worth it but I should be able to share one or two of these things with you.
The first thing a lot of rich and successful people have sacrificed is family. While success and riches sound good to the ear, at first glance we cannot deny that it is a selfish endeavor where you will be willing to sacrifice a lot of things including family. A lot of rich and successful people postpone their making of a family to later dates because they do not have the bandwidth to share focus. Becoming successful has to do with so much focus. You cannot share focus and gt the same level of greatness with people who do not share focus and one thing that will always require ones attention, time, and resources is family.
Immediately a person has a child, the focus point shifts from the person to the child and this is not a way to achieve ones goal because every other thing steps aside while the child takes the entire attention and resources. At the beginning stage of ones entrepreneurial journey, there are a lot of sacrifices that one needs to sacrifice, and family is usually one of them. Personally, I am big on family, but I have realized that a lot of wealthy successful people were either not married, divorced, or had no child at the beginning of their businesses.
I have also seen that a lot of rich people sacrifice health in other get money and then sacrifice a little of the money to get their health back. Most of them find it difficult sleeping, they get tired very fast and they are only concerned about their goals. Their health is usually neglected just as they will most time neglect their childhood or close friends because there is a little room for social life in the journey. On the topic of friends, people who are willing to succeed and are on that journey will always cut people who are toxic, followed by friends who are not adding to meeting the goal. They will prefer to work alone than to work with those type of people because they believe that along the way they will meet people with the same vision and goals.
Time is something that millionaires do not have in excess. You see, the goal to becoming successful in any business or venture will take an average of 7 to 10 years depending on the industry that you are getting into. This might sound like a lot of time but it isn't, you need to be able to grow yourself tirelessly for this periods because they will be tiring, stressful, and demanding. In all the investment you are going to be investing, never forget to invest in yourself. You might not always in everyday, but you must be willing to start again the next day and grind because it is important to keep the vision going.
On a final note, one thing that successful people sacrifice is entertainment and fun. Unless you are making money from social media, spending 15 hours on it is a waste of time unless you are a consumer who do not intend to be successful on their endeavor. Unless you are the one on TV, you do not need to watch it for too long because it will be stealing the little time you have to accomplish things.
Anything that holds value or worth will definitely come at a price. To achieve success, one should be willing to make the necessary sacrifices.
Nice piece, dear Bimbo
Thanks friend, absolutely, everything good requires some level of sacrifices.
Social media is one strong tool that has made lots of young minds become wasteful to themselves in this age and time, people spend long hours on the television, spend other hours arguing about thr things they have watched eith others, and at the end of the day, there would be nothing to show for it besides hunger.
Truthfully, being able to control our urges and time on social media helps out significantly.
"Great post! 🙌 It's refreshing to see a honest and realistic take on what it takes to be successful and rich in today's world. I especially resonated with the point about sacrificing family, health, friends, and entertainment for the sake of success. It's not an easy journey, but it's true that many wealthy individuals have made these sacrifices along the way.
I'd love to hear from others who have walked this path - what were some of the toughest sacrifices you had to make? 💭 And to those just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey, what are some of your goals and aspirations? Let's keep the conversation going! 🤗
