American burrito Coleoptera

in Project HOPE2 years ago

My scientific knowledge does not reach the maximum point of a professional Entomologist, since in some cases it reached a comparative classification based on the photographic similarity of the different insects existing in Venezuela and neighboring countries. This specimen may be related to the Subfamily Entiminae or to the Genus Naupactus, depending on its natural habitat as a native or invasive species.

I had the visit of a very particular beetle due to its easy morphology, since its short and wide snout has earned it the popular name of "America's burrito". It is a weevil of the curculionidae subfamily, so wide that it lives from northern Mexico to southern Argentina.
