Whenever I consider my life and the life of others, I cannot find the purpose behind the existence of life. We are all living on this planet which is round and has no corner. This planet is very vast and it is surrounded by its own environment. Its gravity do not let us to leave this planet and we cannot go beyond its boundaries without the help of machines and special equipment called spaceships. Let’s not forget that our spaceships cannot cross the limit of speed of light. So, it is impossible for us to cross even our own galaxy in our lifetime, even if we could travel with the speed of light. That’s why it seems that we are trapped inside the planet earth which is very big but not bigger than her others sister planets like Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter. Sun is too big but it is just a middle sized star and there are billions of stars in our galaxy milkyway. The Milkyway is just an ordinary galaxy which is stretched across tens of thousands of light years. There are trillions of galaxies in our universe. Has the creator created our world only where life can flourish inside a single planet and other galaxies and their stars and planets are devoid of life? If it is true, then it must be a great wastage. So far, we haven’t find signs of life anywhere else. Therefore, it is clear that we are trapped inside our own planet where we are fighting for our survival despite of a very short span of our life.

A human being can live about hundred years while some trees can live for thousands of years. However, thousand years is almost zero compared to the whole lifetime of our own planet. Our planet is about 4.5 billion years old and our sun is about 5 billion years old. Our universe may be older than 13 billion years. So, our planet can still live for billions years and the lifespan of our universe may be trillions of years. What is the significance of human life which can remain just a few dozen years?

In our whole life we spend one third of our life in sleeping and we have only a few part of our whole life of which we can enjoy. Childhood and old age are devoid of many things which only a youthful period of our life can enjoy and realize. But, what we get through all such exercise which give us satisfaction for only a little time? We need more and more stimulations to live for another moment. Without it our life will become boring and purposeless.

Consider your own life. What have you achieved so far? Many of you may be very rich but richness can bring temporary pleasure only. No doubt, it makes our life happy but it is not the permanent solution of our problems. We need more and more means of enjoyment to keep ourselves motivated. Love, sex, money, material things and even spirituality can give us temporary satisfaction but they cannot give us the purpose of living on this planet. I may sound pessimist for many but I am just exploring and explaining the things. Since I was born, I did everything for my survival. I played, studies and spend many years of my life in learning the things which had helped me in earning money. I earned money, married a beautiful woman, have children and one day I will grow old when my body and mind will be feeble. In my old age, I will be too week to do anything. One day I’ll die. My children will follow my life and so their children. Everyone on this world has done accordingly and will repeat it for generation over generation. Some of us might do great things and their monuments will be the grandest. Their name will be in history books but one day when our planet will spend its life, everything they had done will be erased from the face of the earth. Even if we might migrate to some other world, we cannot escape this fate. Our own life and achievements will become null and void and so of our progeny’s. We are just living to die. This may be a pessimist thought but it is inevitable. Life has no purpose and there is no meaning behind the creation of this world. This is the bitter truth. We started from void and will dissolve in the void.
