I set my alarm to go off at 6:30 and when it did, I tossed in bed still feeling like I wanted to sleep more but I pushed on and woke up. I heat some water and went to take a warm bath. By 8, I was done preparing myself . At 8:10, I left my hostel and headed up to campus.

When am at school,I pray from our Anglican campus church which is called St. James Chapel. I pray the first service which begins at 9-11am. Every Sunday, our reverands prepare for us topic around which the preaching is centered following a certain scripture. Today's topic was
SPIRITUAL DEPRESSION

Depression:
It can come in two ways;
When we are griving and when it is a consequence of sin.

Psalms 42: 1 talks about how like a deer pants for fresh streams of water so does the psalmist's soul pant for the Lord. This is a sign of desperacy.

Psalms 42:3 quotes, "My tears have been my food day and night". This is a sign that the person is so depressed that they are constantly crying over and over again.

A classic example that was given is how youths during courtships jump from one relationship to another. They have this void in their hearts that they try to fill with drugs and sex and money. What they donot understand is that all they need to do is to come back to God and ask for guidance and fulfilment.

It's a pity that the time when most people think about their lives is when they are on their death beds. Don't be one of those people.

You will be surprised at how much damage spiritual depression can do so don't let it get to the worst case scenario.
