How The Second Lockdown Has Affected Me.

Hello Steemians,

Thank you @yohan for this contest. You have filled us with so much Joy.

The Covid 19 situation in Uganda had worsened and this led to a declaration of a total lockdown.
This has brought a lot to a standstill indeed as the freedom of movement is not entirely free😞, public transport suspended, offices to operate with only 10% of their staff, market vendors to sleep at their market stalls, schools and institutions of learning to remain closed till further notice.

It is evident that this has brought far reaching negative effects on the population as the fear of death lingers in peoples minds😞😞 .

However for me, this has been a blessing in disguise, the second lockdown has colored my world like never before.

The precious time spent with family cannot be underestimated😊😊. Previously, I spent several months away from family and all I could here are their little voices calling out for me over the phone📱📱 .Little did they know that I have to study and make ends meet.
When I come back home for holidays I have office work to catch up with😊.

This second lock down has made me experience the following;

I have had time to** impart practical life skills in the lives of the children**. The bible says train up a child in the way they should go and when they grow up they will not depart from it. These Charcoal Briquettes are pocket- friendly, I am sure they can make a fortune out of them, trust me!. Their self-drive, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn practical skills shows they are distinct Children. I can tell that a diligent and an excellent spirit flows through them .

This is what we use

-Charcoal dust,

  • Cassava flour,
    -Clay soil (if you can)
-Dried matooke peelings (burn this to ashes and use the residue) .
-Mix all the above with water and make balls out of them.
-Sun dry them under good sun.

A white “Kaveera" full of these goes for 1,000/=, not bad for a side income, right? There Is no way our bag of charcoal goes to waste, with these fire catching balls, I love them.

Yes, the churches are closed but the word of God is never in chains! Bible stories, spiritual songs and how to pray have been our daily anthem🎶🎶.
I cannot tell you how happy I feel when they pray for themselves especially when they have pain. They will say , by his stripes, we were healed, so pain is gone. I know they are learning every day and by the time lockdown is done, their spiritual lives will be at another level🥰. Now they know that Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God live in their hearts, and the angels are always protecting them💕.

We have a small garden near our home, so once in a while, they go to dig and know that it is good to farm. My spiritual Father once said, if everything else fails, turn to the ground, it will always give you answers .I will not be surprised if one of them takes to farming in future .They are learning how to dig and also do make some portable gardens .
In here, we shall plant some greens like spinach. Amazing, right?.

Much as we have a house help, I have not spared them when it comes to house work especially the little ones. They wash utensils in turns. Here is where I see the most fights,,😂 both Zoe and Elizabeth want to scrub the utensils. I love seeing them work, wash their daddy’s stockings, sweep the compound and cook with me once in a while. The beauty about teaching children is that the results will surely show in due time.

The lockdown has indeed done me well, because it is a once in a blue moon opportunity! I cannot complain or wish it is lifted because I know it works together for good🥰. I have had time to be on Steemit, post, like, vote, blog and comment .

Parents and Guardians, to train a child in the way they should go takes God💖💖.

Yes! they may through tantrums once in a while and be tempted to disobey you. Do not give into their whims🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️, let them work and learn, you will thank me later when they grow up😎.

Thank you for reading my post.
