Steem Uganda Contest: - How The Second Total Lockdown In Uganda Has Affected My Life.

Hey Steemians,

My mind is running🏃; but it's the only thing capable of motion right now!😏😏😏😏Lockdown is here, again!!🙄🙄😤

Covid 19!!🦠🦠🦠🦠🦠

Yes, it's total chaos in the world and for uganda, it's havoc! These are unprecedented times. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the LDS church recently shared in the October 2020, General Conference;

COVID and cancer, doubt and dismay, financial trouble and family trials. When will these burdens be lifted?
The answer is “by and by.” And whether that be a short period or a long one is not always ours to say, but by the grace of God, the blessings will come to those who hold fast to the gospel of Jesus Christ

How has the current Nation's total lockdown affected your life?

Truthfully, even a baby who was born yesterday, is affected by the lockdown!
We are all inconvenienced in many aspects of our lives.

The second lockdown is abit different from the first but majorly, it's in the negative slope.

•🦠We are more aware of what we are facing because of sensitization and awareness campaigns on the media, than we were in March when it begun.

•🦠 Deaths are more realistic than before; we all thought government was using it as a tool to rig or win elections (whichever counts!). We are watching people we know, people we work with, people we personally have relations with die!

Not to mention the alarming death rate at which the graph 📈 is rising. Realization has hit us hard, and it has hit where it hurts the most.

• 🦠Less fear: Ugandans are staring at death in the face, but because 'emitima gyakaluba', the trauma is not the same. Different strategies for survival have been improvised such as 'steeming' one's face, drinking lemon, ginger, garlic and mangoe leaf concoctions, etc. In this case, the local herbalist is jubilating for an opportunity to make money while a lemon 🍋 in Kampala goes for 1000/= each!

Adding to the above, there have been massive vaccination campaigns across the country, reducing on fear of catching the virus.

All in all, there are givers and takers in this lockdown.

I am one of the takers!

• My work entails working on phone through a network of market prospects. This not only gives me freedom to work from home, but also stay on truck 🚒 with my business projections.

The main concern however is that due to the lockdown, many businesses are running on uncertainty and this makes it hard for business. The most available answer right now is, "let's wait and see after 42 days"! Chei!

• Through friends like @faithilyn @yohan2on @head1, I have discovered a wonderful opportunity on the online Steemit platform. The platform has been a huge eye opener for me in the world of Crypto and I can now proudly call myself a Crypto-enthusiast.

I often wonder how life would be without Steemit. It is our hope for survival now, our friend to talk to when locked up in the house and our source of knowledge dissemination. Now, in this second lockdown, I can stay home, safe but occupied, and even get paid doing what I love, and gaining knowledge on Steemit.
Yes, I am a taker!

• School is banned for now. Children back home. School fees already paid ( could have bought sacks of rice, sugar and posho instead!!). But the good news is I am a teacher by profession. I can teach my girl from home. Home schooling is the way to go! As for the paid fees, atleast I am covered for next time they start!

• My own schooling schedule is unaffected by lockdown 🤩🤩🤩😜. My classes have been online since the start! No need for rush dead years or coursework assignments not given.

My gatherings with my tutor are on zoom. Everything is mapped out and the only thing that will stop me from graduating again will be if I die!! 😂 😂 and that's not about to happen. It's not in plan at the moment (as if iam God🙄🙄😂😂😂😂).

• We are all trying to survive now (survival mode activated). No matter how bad things are, we can always get some good out of it. That is why I won't say I am depressed or sad or fatigued even when I am. I look on the bright side.

So I say to myself;

• Even though you have anthritis in one knee, you can walk! It will be good exercise and it will get better when you get used!

• You can't take a ride to work and you might get late if you walked, but hey; you can work on phone or zoom!

• It's boring being in one place for long and not having visitors, but at least you're alive!

• Your fiancé is far away from you, cut short by Covid; but you have your family with you!

• You don't have much to survive on, but you have an opportunity with Steemit! Make the best of it.

• The many plans you had are on hold, but God knows the right time. There is a time for everything!

• No Church, no partaking the sacrament, but God still hears you when you pray! Get on your knees!

Thank you @yohan2on for this contest. My DM to you is please keep safe, we need you here!! 😜😜😇For the rest of us, i am happy we can share about something we all relate to.

It's hard, but we are learning from experience. As they say, "Experience is the best teacher". The tough times we go through make us who we are and humble us before God; that we may know and acknowledge, that He alone is Jehovah, creator of the world🌎.

Sort:

I pray you guys get through with this covid lockdown.

Thank you. We trust we will.

You have said it well my dear, all this humbles us before God.
With him, We shall over come.

Am amused by your article, indeed it holds the contest

Hi Grace

You can't take a ride to work and you might get late if you walked, but hey; you can work on phone or zoom!

We are so blessed to still be working online on steemit.com even when we are at home throughout this tough lockdown period.

Thanks for your entry.

Sure thing prof.
