Stream hydrology

Its upper source flows through Qimen County, and after it enters Xiuning, it is called Zhishui river. After Tunxi naheng River, it is called Jianjiang River. It flows to Zhujia village in the south of Shexian City, and Lianjiang River comes to join it. The Xinanjiang River flows eastward to JIEKOU,
and then goes straight to Zhejiang Province. The main stream flows from Shexian county to JIEKOU, about 44 kilometers long, and its catchment area is 5944 square kilometers. In addition to Xin'an River, there are also Qingyi River which originates from the north slope of Huangshan Mountain, flows into the Yangtze River in the north, originates from the Changjiang River in the west section of the south slope of Huangshan Mountain, and flows into Poyang Lake in the south, all of which belong to the Yangtze River system.
Soil type
Most of the middle and low mountain areas in Huangshan City are yellow soil, mountain yellow brown soil, thick soil layer, high gravel content, good water permeability and permeability, high fertility, which is conducive to the growth of wood, tea, mulberry and medicinal materials. There are more than 100 kinds of tree species which belong to excellent building timber, including Chinese fir, pine, sassafras, Cinnamomum camphora, nanmu, Broussonetia papyrifera, Castanopsis fargesii, etc. Cunninghamia lanceolata is mainly distributed in Liukou and Xikou of Xiuning; pine is mostly distributed in Qimen, Yixian and Huangshan areas;
moso bamboo is mainly distributed in Xiuning, Huangshan and Qimen; other miscellaneous trees are mainly distributed in Guniujiang and Qingliangfeng, as well as Qimen, Yixian, Shexian and Huangshan districts. The forest coverage rate of the whole city is 73%, the timber volume is 24 million cubic meters, the bamboo is about 50 million roots, and the annual output of tea is about 25000 tons.
