Above Views of Edinburgh, Scotland
A Gorgeous Landscape
About 5 or 6 years ago while visiting my in-laws in the UK, my wife's cousin invited us to go on a trip to Scotland with her family. I had never been that far north before, so I thought it would be a fun trip.
One of the nice things about visiting Europe from the perspective of an American like myself is the ease of traveling and getting cheap flights around to different places that would be crazy expensive to get to from the US directly.
When we arrived, we stopped to have breakfast before checking out some of the museums. Afterward, we decided to have a walk around the outskirts of town. We found this cool trail going of the side of a large cliff.
I believe that the area we were walking on is called the "Salisbury Crags".
Of course, as soon as we got on the trail we came across people who couldn't read signs. I guess you find them everywhere you go. I guess they were too lazy to walk down the winding path? Who knows..
There were some incredible views from along this trail. I have to say though, it was cold and windy as hell up there on this day. At least that's what everyone else was saying. I was at my height of being overweight at the time, and didn't know the meaning of cold; which is kind of funny now that I've lost a ton of weight. I feel like an icicle all the time now!
You also get this great view of the National Monument from up here. We did a tour of this area which was really cool. It was fun learning about the history of everything. I'll have to get some photos together and do a proper post about it.
It seems there are gorgeous views from every direction up here. I just wish that is wasn't so overcast that day. My smartphone was not dealing well with the lighting.
This is especially apparent in the above shot that looks pretty darn over-exposed.
At this point it was time to get back to town to start checking out the sights. Be sure to check back, I'll be posting these images as I gather them together.
FYI - At the time of this writing there are some issues with images loading on Hive. Hopefully this will be resolved soon! If you can't see any of the photos, please keep checking back. Thanks!

It looks so cold in Scotland @nuthman I might not like it but the food. and scenery :D
The food is different but I liked it! Especially the haggis and tatties and neeps. Very Scottish food!
