I agree, self cross posting is reward abuse no matter how it's packaged up and sold by those doing it. Cross posting someone else is not a bad way to go for really good posts, but even then, it would want to be a great and unrewarded post for me to do that. It's likely I'd send it to @curangel, @c-squared or @c-cubed before I cross posted though. I think it needs to approached with some caution and not used as a wholesale posting machine!

Indeed. I don't know how but there are always ways to abuse this platform, and at some point I thought we had everything figured out to not have anything of the sort anymore. I was wrong...again. Your approach it's definitely better because upvotes that come from such curators will pour onto one post, that is supposedly undervalued, and not three or four posts that are exactly the same material. Heading forward, but still plenty of work.
Yeah, we're moving in the right direction but there's still some way to go, probably there'll always be something that needs work. Continuous improvement is a good thing. As far as I can tell many people are starting to curb their self-posting and others are punishing it with downvotes so I think it's going in the right direction. I wouldn't be too surprised to see some changes too.
We just gotta keep on doing the right things right, and sharpening up those things that need it.
