RE: Upcycled Double Pocket Denim Bag
Your comment made me laugh 😍
This is actually my second bag but other that that, I haven't done anything considerable. The other things were trying out the sewing machine by attempting to make some cotton napkins but I wouldn't show those to anyone as the work is shameful.
What I'm going to say is not for me to show off, but as an encouragement for you. The process looks difficult but in fact it's not so difficult and I'm saying this as a beginner and I'll tell you why.
It looks complicated, but in fact all you have to do is sew some straight lines. Before I started working on this bag or the other, I've been watching a lot of videos that looked not so complicated. After awhile I felt confident enough to start my first project. I made mistakes, had to redo some parts but it wasn't so bad. It's a learning process, which means you win some, lose some, make mistakes and learn from it.
Now after two bags I'm pretty confident I can do a lot more as these videos help a lot. I have a lot of ideas, a lot of designs in my head and hope to do them all.
If you're also learning, I encourage you to go on and not give up 😊
You are absolutely inspiring and I in now way thought you wanted to show of... only I am reallyyyyy slooooow (see how many letters I needed to describe my speed 😂) in learning to sew. I won a sewing machine some time (ahem years) ago and I still have so much things I do not understand, but I try, believe me. Before corona I even started to go to a sewing course (we had three sessions, now it’s cancelled) But I so often make unbelievable mistakes. I often have to laugh about myself afterwards. If you are in quarantine and want to feel accomplished read my post about my first pants (pajama... and no they do not fit well :-D)
I honestly admire your bag. I mostly (always) try to sew garments, so Ihave no idea if the bag is an easier task, but it looks professional and lovely 😍😍🌈

I am happy I could make you smile in these dire times of corona. And I hope you are safe and healthy 🌈🙏
