RE: @misterengagement and ENGAGE are back to support engagement on Steem
Heyyo! To spice things up a bit, especially now with communities being here, we got to talking about the engage token and some ideas came to mind. I'm writing this comment here to let ya'll know what we been thinking and we welcome anyone to let us know what you think about the ideas and if you think they could be improved.
We at OCD have been wanting to increase engagement for some time now and instead of creating a new token we figured using one that already exists and can be used platform wide would be better.
From our end though, we would want to enforce the engage token in these ways:
Our curators at OCD will be given 1k engage tokens each (I have about 4700 from god knows when that I'm gonna share with whichever curator is interested) and when they're doing their usual curation in our community and give out engage tokens to commenters they happen to read we will give that comment a vote depending on length, quality, etc.
We are not interested in maximizing curation rewards so in order to incentivize users to engage and curate comments more we'll be voting on the comments late. Everything still manual but only on trusted curators for now (including @abh12345 and in the future maybe other users we trust won't abuse the system). With this we are hoping people will read more comments and engage with them while at the same time curating them knowing there's a possibility for a bigger vote coming in later from our accounts rewarding their curation.
On top of that the funding we initially set aside for the tip bot which isn't here yet and has been going towards funding #godsunchained giveaways on the @teamocd account. We will instead be setting it aside to at random times purchase the existing sell orders off of steem-engine markets of the ENGAGE token. We're hoping this will give the token some more demand and raise engagement and that more users will want to engage more to be able to earn the token from users with 1k who are able to issue it creating more users in the future holding 1k tokens while knowing that there's some buying power that will give them some value.
So, a TL;DR of what you can look forward to when engaging:
- ENGAGE Tokens worth not nothing(?)
- Being able to issue tokens yourself once you hit 1000! (don't abuse it or we will
sueblock you) - Possible curation on your engaging comments(!)
- Higher curation rewards if bots don't front-run you(?!)
- ???
- More engagement platform wide!
For starters the OCD team will be focusing on engagement on our community but every project should be able to do something similar on their own or come up with better incentives/ideas - if so feel free to share them here! :)
Anyway let us know what you think!

This I think is a great effort on your part, I was actually surprised by @curangel with a vote of theirs on a comment I made, it is nice to see people reading comments, the real ones are great additions to the post, and often times you end up with a more pleasing over-all read and feel from the post when you include reading comments. I hope that this will get more people reading post, and not just auto voting fly-bys.
Now all I have to do is remember that I can leave engaging comments a few tokens again.
!ENGAGE 50 to help you in your distribution to your agents of joy.
Please do, I know you are one to spend time reading comments and are ready for action with 1700+ ENGAGE :)
I've been saving them, now all I have to do is remember to give them sometimes.
What do I think? Awesome is what I think :D
I think you might need to push this out as a post. Can probably use most of the comment and just burn a % or whatever.
Thanks for giving me the motivation to get Mr E back up and running, I hope some of the curators take you up on the offer.
I can issue to whoever wants in, so you can keep yours in case they moooon. Cheers!
@acidyo you have received

@acidyo you have received

Sounds good to me!
That sound really great. I am sure, those comments which are not lengthy, yet conveying the meaningful message, must be equally treated. No doubt, this will increase the overall engagement.
