In our previous videos we have discussed the story of balto, the dog who is said to have saved thousands of thousands of people from the epideme that spread in their area.

But despite balto's story there was another dog that made a bigger contribution to the serum run to nome or great alaskan race.

As many know, balto was the true hero in the said event.

But in this video we will know the true hero in serum run to nome.

I will not take longer so i will introduce togo which is from the northern sami language which means puppy or puppy in english.

Togo was just a child, he was seen by strange actions that often caused his employer's headache.

Togo is a small dog weighing only 22 kilograms. But he is very intelligent because no matter what his boss does he always makes it alone.

Because of togo's cruelty, his employer was forced to make him a sled dog.

Let’s go back my freinds to the serum run to nome story. As i mentioned my friends, there was a spreading disease or epidemic in the town of nome in america.

They called this disease diphtheria and the nearest possible resource of medicine was in the town of anchorage.

It is almost three thousand kilometers distance from nome town. Their place is extremely cold and freezing and the only transportation is the so -called sled dog.

That is why their mission is to get the medicines at the right time because the people in their town are growing out due to the spreading epidemy.

Because the nome was too far from anchorage so they made a way to faster the transportation of drugs.

And because there was a train from anchorage to nenana town, the officials brought the medicines to nenana so that the people of nome country could pick up it closer.

But it is still over two thousand kilometers. So they thought of forming two groups. One will come from nenana and the other will come from nome.

If they meet in the middle this is the town of nulato. This is where our star dog togo will enter.
