INTRODUCTION

Hello Steeminans, I hope we are all doing fine?. So I'm here to complete my achievement-2 task as a newcomer in the steemit platform.

Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?

Yes, I have retrieved all my keys on steemit and I saved it as a PDF in my WPS documents folder. This was done the first day I created my steemit account through the help of my boss @zekanem.

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes I do, from the explanation given by @cryptokannon and from my use of some of the keys like my posting key and active key, I know the functions and restrictions.

  1. Private Posting key: This is the key I use everyday because the key allows me to post in communities, interact with fellow Steeminans, comment on fellow Steeminans post, vote on post and resteem post. It is the key used to log in to our account daily.

  2. Private Active key: This key is mainly for wallet related transactions like transferring steem to another user, powering up and powering down. This key is mainly for transactions.

  3. Private Owner key: This is the most important key and must be kept safe because it can be used to retrieve the account in case of necessity and it can be used to change all other keys.

4)Private Memo Key: This key is used for encryption and decryption of private message.

Difference between the Master And owner password

The Master password is most likely the strongest of all the passwords because it can be used to generate all other keys including the owner key and is very important in account recovery WHILE The owner password can be used to change other keys. The both keys are best stored offline.

How do you plan to keep your master password?

How I plan on saving my master password is by saving it in my WPS document folder and not revealing it to anyone. I could also copy it and save in my note pad for reference purposes.

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes I do, I'll quickly run through the steps.

Step I: Log in to your steem wallet using your posting key.

It will take you to buy steem and sell steem , you choose buy steem, then you input the number of SBD you want to convert to steem then you click on "Buy Steem".

Hi, dear edit and post and add the function of the owner key and the difference between the owner and the master password.

Note you don't log into your wallet using an active password but a posting key, you can only use the active key to validate transactions.

Private Memo Key: This key is used when transferring funds. In case of transferring steem, you will see a place where memo is required.

You have to edit this because it's not the function of this key, you use it for encryption and decryption of private messages.

I also have steemit public keys . Which are not required for login for example my Posting Public key, Active Public key, Memo Public key.

No dear there's nothing like this, the only public keys we have is that of our Tron wallet, that one is open for all to see. Others are private.

Step 1: Log in to your Steem wallet using an active key.

Wrong, you don't log in to your wallet with this key but the posting key. You use this key to validate transactions.

Then the master password is most powerful key, it can use to generate every other keys including itself. So someone can claim your account if they have access to it, keep it safe.

Hi @victorlives you have been verified, continue to keep your keys safe and secure, don't share it with anyone else. Also form a power up habit as it's the only way to grow your account. You may move to the next task #3 at your convenience.
