Hey guys, so it's been a long time I've posted and I'm truly really sorry, we started exams and we just concluded, the exams was jam packed and so there was no much time for me to completely make a post. Thanks a lot for understanding and I promise to do better from now on.
I'm here for my Achievement 3 task by @cryptokannon. I was really thrilled by the topic of Plagiarism and it was so nice to get to learn this. I can remember that I was corrected sometime ago about something like this in an assignment I submitted and I'm really happy I got to learn and follow up this study. Let me quickly go into what we have today.

What is Plagiarism

Plagiarism is simply taking credit for another person's work. You practically represent someone else's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as yours. Now, plagiarism isn't always in itself against the law, but like counterfeiting fraud can be punished in a court for partiality caused by copyright violation and infringement of ethical rights so can plagiarism be also punishable also.

Types of Plagiarism
Now while researching and understanding this plagiarism I got to find out that about 30% are done unknowingly, meaning that I can actually just go and get an article online and just present it to someone else or even here without the knowledge that this is plagiarism and for a content / article writer it's very bad.

Let's take a look at some types of Plagiarism

  • Self Plagiarism - this is when you submit you previous work, or mix part of your previous work, without permission from your professor /teacher involved.

  • Direct Plagiarism - is the phrase-for-phrase use of someone else’s words , without attributions or credits. This particular kind of Plagiarism to me seems to be the worst because you are not putting any effort to what you want to present to people or your professor.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism - this when a student borrows words from writers without using quotation marks or citations, or use synonyms for the creator's language while sticking to the same general structure and meaning of the original.

  • Accidental Plagiarism - as it was clearly stated, this is an accident and the student may not have the mindset of actually not giving credits to the original content creator but might just forget or neglect it thinking its not too important.

How To Avoid Plagiarism

The best way to avoid plagiarism to a great extent is to learn to understand what you want to write about and write about them in your on words, as simple as it can be. Remember that the purpose for writing is for communication, so if you can put them in simpler and more understandable terms then you have communicated better.

Another way to avoid plagiarism is to give credit to who credit is due to. It won't be called plagiarism if you actually use quotation marks or cite what you want to use from another writer. Also remember to cite the pictures sources you use and if this is done, then plagiarism would be greatly reduced and communication would be better.
