Hey guys! How are y'all doing? I hope you've eaten today right (it's very important you know), I'm very happy to be in the midst of y'all honestly.

So... I wanted to talk about Basic Security on Steem today #Achievement2, why it's important as a steemer to understand the significants of keys used on steemit, here are some series of questions you need to know on how significant a key is as regards to account protection on steemit and how to apply them to use.

Let's go!

Question 1
Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?

Yes I have, at the point of registration a link was sent to download the pdf material which contained every detail for my account accessibility. It contained all the keys/password to be use for all account logins and wallet for each accounts. That way, the keys are always accessible to me at every time.

Question 2

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Not all though, since I'm still new to the steem community I'm still getting used to all the keys and their function.
The TRON public and private keys are use for transactions on Tron account for sending or receiving on Tron blockchain.

The posting key allows me to vote, post, edit, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts. Though, according to a friend @eberechi10, it is likely to have the password or key compromised the more one uses it, so a limited posting key exists to restrict the damage that a compromised account key would cause.

The active key is used for task that are very sensitive such as transferring funds, power up and down transactions, converting Steem Dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar, and placing a market order.

The owner key is only meant for use when necessary. The owner key is the most powerful key because it can be used to change any key of an account. Ideally, it is meant to be stored offline, and only used to recover a compromised account.

Memo key - Memo key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when performing funds transactions.

Question 3

How do you plan to keep your master password?

I've saved it on my Google account and so even if change my phone or it develops fault, it would be very much accessible to me. I also saved it in my laptop so I can easily get it offline also.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another account?

I've not done it before though but, to transfer to another Steem user, you'd need to first login with your active key for transfer, go to your steem in your wallet and click the drop down. Select transfer. Enter the name of the account you wish to transfer to and type in the amount of steem to transfer. And that does it.

Question 5

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO POWER YOUR STEEM?

To power up, go to the drop down behind the steem in your wallet, click on power up then type the amount to power up and click OK.
