Source

A work is said to be plagiarized when its content is copied from another source without proper referencing. This is done when an author copies words, ideas, information, images, and text as its own without giving credits to the source it was culled from.

It is also referred to as “academic dishonesty and a breach of journalistic ethics”

Plagiarism has eaten into the roots of our media and Academic system around the world.
Since the advent of the internet. As more people have access to the internet and can easily find materials online without supervision, it is very easy to copy ideas online since there is no regulatory body online. This is a major challenge in our educational system because students are becoming lazy every day due to the vast amount of information at their disposal.

Forms of plagiarism
Plagiarism could occur in many forms, which includes;
1. Copying someone’s work completely without giving them proper credits.
2. Cutting part of someone’s work online as your own without citing the source of the work.
3. Making someone else works your own.
4. Re-writing someone’s work without citing the source of the work.
5. Submitting a full work written by another person s your own. Etc.

Conclusion

Plagiarizing is against Academic work ethics and should be discouraged at all costs. I know it is very difficult to do this as there is plenty of information and ideas be it in text, images, or sound on the internet ecosystem. Let’s endeavor to properly acknowledge the source of information or idea as no one has the vast knowledge needed to succeed. We all depend on each other for ideas and information.
Since we are dependent on each other, let's properly give credits to ideas that are not ours.
