As Salamu Alaikum everyone! Hope you all will be safe and sound. My today's task is to discuss the content etiquette on Steemit. It is a very important topic that every steem user should know about. It's all about uprooting Plagiarism.

Ethics in content on Steemit:-

I wanted to talk about it before writing on Plagiarism.

Ethics, also called moral philosophy, is the discipline concerned with what is morally good and bad and morally right and wrong. source

Ethics in content is very crucial. It means the content you are creating should avoid things that are morally wrong such as posting something about pornography, harassing someone, inappropriate images, racism, hate speech, violence, etc. The content can be about things that are morally right and correct such as posting about nature, daily diary games, etc. To summarize it, the content must be genuine and original.

What is Plagiarism?

  1. to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
  2. to use (another's production) without crediting the source
  3. to commit literary theft
  4. to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source. source

Is Plagiarism a Crime?

Plagiarism is a heinous crime. It is morally wrong and is a disease that is spreading day by day. It is using other people's work and ideas as yours and pretending that the hard work is yours. To take all the credit for the plagiarized work, the thieves don't even mention the source where they have stolen the work from. And that's where the problem begins. For instance, you wrote a book that hasn't been published yet. Someone stole that book and published it with his name taking all the credit for it. The hard work and the nights you spent writing it was wasted. You may get depressed by it. At last, it's a crime that can put one behind the bars.

Be Genuine

Stealing someone's work is a sin in my religion, Islam. Posting a blog or post which you even haven't written is for what? For Wealth or Money? Remember, stolen things can never help you because they never belonged to you ever. That stolen content can never benefit you in a positive way. Be genuine. Be truthful. Be plain-spoken. And post what you understand and what you can easily write. Believe me, it is more worth it than the stolen one. And this is the motto and slogan of Steemit.

How to elude Plagiarism?

It's uncomplicated. Just use your BRAIN. Educate yourself. Help in eradicating this disease. Just think about a topic to write on, make research about it, brainstorm it, and write about it what you remember in a decent way.

Conclusion

We would not plagiarize content and put our efforts into making creative content. Lastly,

I have understood the Steemit etiquette, rules, and regulations and I promise to do my best to follow them.
