ACHIEVEMENT 2 : Basic Security On Steemit by @stellaheart

Greetings, today I will talking on Achievement2 task which is centered at, Basic Security in Steem,this where we would try to understand how steemit keys work.

Talking of security, the first thing that pop up in our mind is safety because of high increase in crime rate both online and offline ,some measures have been initiated to reduce insecurity. Steemit platform is a decentralized platform which make of strong security which can never be broken into . Steemit password is long and complex, consisting of a number and a jumble of random letters, as well as a unique security mechanism in which different passwords are useful at different levels.

When I originally registered, I received a PDF file including a password, which included a password for our Tron Account, a Master Password, Steemit Public Keys and most significantly, Steemit Private Keys, which included four separate passwords.

VARIOUS KEYS ON AN ACCOUNT

Posting Key
This allows you to follow or unfollow other accounts, as well as post, remark, edit, vote, share, and follow or unfollow other accounts. The majority of users come to Steemit through key postings.

Active Key
This is used to perform sensitive tasks such as transferring funds, changing power levels, converting Steem Dollars, and voting for witnesses. It can also be used to update profile information and photos, as well as place market orders.

Owner's Key
This is the strongest password; it can be used to alter the existing passwords we have, including changing the password from this Owner Key; therefore, we recommend that we preserve this password offline, and it can be used to recover stolen accounts.

We also have STEEMIT PRIVATE KEYS.

PRIVATE ACTIVE KEYS: they are used for monetary related actions such as transferring tokens or powering Steem up

• Private memo key: used to decrypt private memos.

• Private posting key used to login apps such as steemit.com and perform social media actions such as posting, commenting, and voting.

Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit.

• Yes I have retrieved them and saved them

Question 2

Do you know each key function and restriction

• Yes I do, immediately I downloaded the keys I went through it to understand their function. The first key I used was the private posting key which I needed for login so that I can make post.

How do you intend to keep your master password?

• Because of how importance keys is, I backed it up on my google account as well as my laptop.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer Steem token to another steem account?

• Yes I can transfer my steem token from my account to another account
• Go to your profile
• Click on wallet
• click on Steem balance

• If you want to transfer STEEM, select the drop-down menu, then select transfer.

• Fill in the delivery destination (Steem Account) , the amount of Steem you want to transfer, this memo is optional.
• Click Next to to proceed and Steem will be successfully sent.

Question 5

Do you know how to power up your steem?

• Yes I do know how to power up steem.
• Go to your profile
• click on wallet
• click on the Steem balance, just as you did in tranfering steem
• Select "power up"

• fill in the amount and select power up and there you have it
