Achievement 3 Task Content Etiquette by @sheda
Good afternoon Steemians,
Assalamualaikum......
I think we are all fine. I pleased to present my next achievement task , where I will talk about "CONTENT ETIQUETTE". Originality is highly recognized and valued in many aspects of life, as the word implies "Originality", that is, being original or thinking outside the box, the dictionary describes it as the ability to think independently or inventively. I will also talk about plagiarism and the different types of plagiarism. Let's get right to that.
Etiquette can be seen as the habitual behavior of members of society, profession or business towards one another, or it can also be seen as formal rules and manners that are considered morally acceptable in a society or environment.
Etiquette separates well-behaved people from those who behave irresponsibly everywhere.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism simply means the act of copying or reusing someone else's ideas, inventions, texts, or creative works and presenting them as your own, especially without the permission of the owner or without proper credit given to the owner.
Plagiarism is a crime punishable by law, because it can be classified as a form of intellectual theft.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism can be grouped into following types..
Self-plagiarism
Paraphrasing plagiarism
Direct Plagiarism
Mosaic Plagiarism
Accidental plagiarism
SELF PLAGIARISM
Self-plagiarism is a situation where you copy your own writing, either intentionally or not. most of the time the person is summarizing their own work rather than writing a whole new article when a similar topic is discussed.
PARAPHRASING PLAGIARISM
This is the most common type of plagiarism. This is common and is similar to another type of plagiarism known as mosaic plagiarism which I will explain in a moment. But what makes the difference is that the copied works are not mixed with new concepts and / or research.
DIRECT PLAGIARISM
Direct plagiarism is a deliberate and unethical way of stealing content. As the name implies, writings or intellectual works are copied verbatim and inserted into a new work, in which the author tries to pass it on as a work written or created by him without acknowledging the original author of the work or giving credit where necessary.
MOSAIC PLAGIARISM
Mosaic plagiarism is a type of plagiarism in which the original author's work is paraphrased without proper credit or citation. The difficult or to detect because the copied material is inserted evenly from a variety of sources, in addition to the author's own ideas and perspectives.
ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM
Often, plagiarism doesn't always happen on purpose. Some people may casually have the same idea, section, or even sentence in an article and present it in the same way, which may appear as if they have copied someone else's idea, but this may not be the case.
WAYS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
We have some steps here where plagiarism can be avoided.
Include
Citing your source
In scenarios where an author needs to reuse articles that do not belong to him, adding a citation to this article is very important because it identifies the full name of the source, date published, and other citation items. style guide. you follow.
Inserting quotations
Another way to avoid plagiarism is to use quotation marks around the text to indicate that the sentence was taken elsewhere.
Presenting your own idea
Instead of copying or reusing other authors' ideas or perspectives, explore what they have to say about them. Include any unique perspectives or ideas you can contribute to your writing that are entirely your own.
Using plagiarism checker
The advancement of modern times allows us to have many plagiarism checkers. After writing an article or researching a topic, some phrases or sentences may suit you so well that you include them in other articles or studies without citations. When this happens, with the help of an online plagiarism checker tool, this problem can be avoided when this plagiarism checker reviews the article or research several times before submitting it.
CONCLUSION
Plagiarism is a crime that is actually punishable by law and is also unethical. Rather than plagiarizing the work of others, it is suggested that we create our own individual ideas and perspectives, thereby enhancing our creativity. I hope this article was educational and useful for everyone.
