ACHIEVEMENT POST 2: SECURITY ON STEEMIT

It's me Sheba, again. Thank you for verifying my achievement post 1. Its a pleasure for me to be ready to do my achievement 2 post and its about keys used as passwords on Steemit.

Without security, nothing can be kept safe. When opening up my account, i was to be given keys for my account and was told never to share them with anybody so I promise not to.

I also needed to store them somewhere safe where i could easily access them just in case i needed them. I went ahead and saved them on my email and drive. I also saved them on my phone's internal storage and that i can say that they're safe. Among the keys that i was given there is;

Private Posting Key

This key is the foremost widely used key on Steemit because it performs most transactions like it logs in to the Steemit platform on steemit.com and also to perform social functions like posting, commenting, and voting on others' posts.

Master Password

This is the seed password that was used initially to get the keys to my account. It are often given to generate new keys just in case the account has been compromised. Even though it can log in or for monetary transactions, its used solely as last resort. It might be too important for such smaller functions so its better to use the private posting key instead.

It would be good, knowing how to keep this key safe in your phone storage, email or drive because it is better in a safe place where nobody can access it.

Private Active Key

This is used for monetary transactions on Steemit like transferring tokens, buying Steem or powering up or down. It should never be shared with anyone because if they catch on , they will transfer all tokens to their own account and you lose all monies.

Private Memo Key

This is decrypts private transfer memos and since it's 'private' it can't be shared between users. It's solely for personal use.

Private Owner Key

This key resets all the keys stated above. It are often used to recover a compromised account within 30 days and in case your account is compromised, you'll use this key at https://steemitwallet.com. This key should be kept offline in the least times to avoid being copied by hackers.

Other TRON Keys like the TRON Public key and TRON Private key are used for transfers within the TRON blockchain for signing of transactions, freezing, tokens and voting.

Other keys given to me where the general public keys and these include;

• Active Public Key
• Owner Public Key
• Posting Public Key
• Memo Public Key

These keys are related to user names and are used to encrypt and also verify messages. They'll not be required for login and that they are often viewed directly as an example mine are often viewed at https://steemscan.com/account/sheban.
