What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism happens when you claim ownership of another person's work. Plagiarism is an extremely serious offence that should be avoided at all costs.

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

Mosaic plagiarism occurs when an author uses the same thoughts and phrases from another person's work without properly citing it in a new article. The work in most cases of plagiarism appears to be "new," but the ideas and language are not. In other words, there are no reference markers that belong to someone else. It could also be the use of words that have similar meanings to those used by an author, as well as the use of the same order, all of which result in the same content meaning.

SELF PPLAGIARISM

Self plagiarism occurs when you use an old/prior work for any type of new achievement or for new purposes without first receiving permission from the receiver of the earlier work you did. When you reuse previously submitted work in one community and then utilise it in another, you are committing self-plagiarism.

Direct Plagiarism

Direct plagiarism occurs when someone plagiarises someone else's work verbatim without citing the source. It is not authorised on Steemit.
Plagiarism is when someone steals someone else's work or a quote without properly crediting the source.

Complete plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when I take someone else's research and present it under my own name.

Accidental plagiarism

This is also another common case. When you don't provide correct credit to the author of a text or image, or when you misquote them.

How to Avoid plagiarism

Always maintain note of where you got your project's information from. To express a subject in your own words, you must read and digest it independently. Make a note of the source of every piece of information you come across when conducting research and taking notes for your assignment.

Quote and paraphrase

You must either paraphrase or cite the original text if you want to convey a thought or piece of information from a source in your work.

WHAT IS CITATION?

You must cite terms that aren't your own or have already been used in a composition to indicate that they aren't your own. As we've seen, citation is the process of giving out or writing down the websites from which you receive your sources for your writings.

How to cite a text

When you want to reference a text, you'll search Google for the title of the text or the author's name, and you'll be able to read or download it once you've found it.
