Greetings to all our Wonderful steemians, hope you're doing great as I am doing just fine too.
I'm excited to carry out my achievement 5 task 2 today.
Achievement 5task 2 for a newbie has to do with understanding steemscan.com which enables the user enjoy variety of features and experience a stress free usage on the steem platform.

This is a site that has contents that enables all steemit account holders assess the price of steem daily as well as check latest transactions and lots more.
Search steemscan.com on google, it will take you to a page where several features will come up such as the current price of steem amongst others.

What is the price of steem today?

As seen in the screenshot below, the price of steem today as at when this screenshot was taken is 0.27steem/USD and 11,334,330SBD in volume.

What information is shown on latest block transaction?

When you check on the steemscan dashboard, below the steem price is a display of the latest transactions as several accounts with their names are displayed and updated as transactions are going on in the platform as seen in the screenshot above.
Also, latest block transactions are displayed if you tap on the block transactions icon, these shows different account IDs and their transaction number as seen below.

Explaining the witness icon and steps on voting one

On the steemscan dashboard is the menu icon which upon clicking opens up different features and one of such is the witness icon. The vote icon allows you to vote any account user which also helps support the Blockchain. One can easily vote a witness when you open the menu,
When you click on witness icon, it uploads a list of witnesses that are active and their current steem values and on the top right side is the vote icon which allows you to vote a witness.
My screenshot below shows different witnesses of which I have voted steemchiller.

What are DApps?

Also on the menu icon is the DApps tool,which means Decentralized Applications, when clicked, it opens up a variety of applications such as steemworld, steemyy.com and their creators and I have already used steemworld for my achievement 5 task one and hoping to use steemyycom for my next task and maybe in the future.

As you can see above is the very steemscan tool which I am using to make this post.

Using the quick conversion tool

This tool helps the user to convert figures into currencies that can be transferred with an attached fee.

Charges are made depending on the amount to be converted as seen in the screenshot below.

To see the change in fee charges, I decided to change the amount to 100 and as seen below the conversion fee has increased.

The search tool feature explained

The search tool is found on the steemscan menu box and it displays transaction types, transaction ID, amount, where transaction is sent from and where it is sent to as well as date of transaction as displayed below.

Conclusion

Steemscan is a wonderful tool on the platform as it allows users to study the fluctuations of steem price, how to vote for witnesses, now I can observe the flow on latest transactions, do conversions and get inspired to move to greater achievements on the Blockchain technology.
