Achievement 2 @onyx96502 Task : Basic Security on Steem
I just noticed that in a matter of few days the #steemgreet community changed to #newcomers'community. I think I liked #steemgreet better. Anyways that's not the topic for the day.
Here's my understanding of the basic security on steemit as assigned by the steem greeters and mentors @cryptokannon, @yohan2on, @cmp2020 and a few others.
Security is generally meant to be a state of being free from danger or threat. Source
In common sense it means that understanding the basic security of steem means I'm free of danger or threat to my account and it doesn't stand the chance of being hacked.
I took serious security measures from the start of creating my account so I know all there is to keep my account secure and can successfully answer the following questions.
Question 1
Have I retrieved all your keys on steemit?
Yes I have. Before login in to my main account I said a link that asked to download my PDF file containing my keys and I went for it.
Question 2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Yes I do. I read the PDF file to understand the use of all the keys and to know where they're applicable in the blockchain.
Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?
Seeing how the master password is important to change other keys. I plan on writing it down in a page of the thick cover notebook I use to write my books.
Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
Yes I do. Though I have not tried it I've practicalized on it and I know how to transfer steem token to another account. It takes a maximum of 1 minute 30 seconds to occur.
To transfer; Click on transfer, insert the username and my personal private keys to transfer the token. Click on send and it transfers to the receiver's wallet.
Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Yes I do. To the best of my knowledge powering up takes a shorter time than powering down, in which I learnt it takes 4 weeks to happen. Originally it was 13 weeks.
To power up my steem, I'll have to convert my Steem Backed Dollars to Steem by clicking on Power up. It powers up to the equivalent of steem in dollars.
