Hello Everyone.

This is @noorulhudam with Achievement02. In this post, i would highlight some manners and etiquettes regarding security on steemit.com. Security is basic concern of all. In every matter of life, every individual wants to be secure in his personal dealings and matters. Steemit is a decentralized platform where keys and passwords are required to be safe and secure by the user himself. Let's dive in the ways to backup keys of a steemit account. There are few questions which i need to answer in order to complete my achievement 2.

QUESTION 1: Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

Yes, I have retrieved all my steemit keys. I have secured these keys.

QUESTION 2: Do you know each of these keys functions and restrictions?

Yes I know function and restriction of all the keys.

KEYS on Steemit

While creating account, a file is downloaded by the user which contain password and keys. This file gives a unique id to a user and allow him to sign in on steemit.com. As the steemit is decentralized platform, these keys should be secured in careful manner. Lets go through each key in order to grasp the function and purpose of these passwords.

The keys which we get after downloading pdf file are as follow

• Owner key

• Active key

• Posting key

• Memo key

Owner key

The most important key among the above keys is the Owner key. This key allow user to sign in and to create content on steemit. It allow one to have access to his own account. This key should be kept very secretly. This key is used to transfer your funds from one account to another account. It can also be used to change the account password. These function demands user to protect this key in order to protect his account.

Active Key

The active key can be use to transfer token or steem from one account to another account. This key allow one to perform transaction. The wallet can be functioned by using this key. This key is use to verify authentic ownership to access wallet. SO this should be protect very carefully in order to protect your wallet to be accessed by any other person.

Posting Key

This key, as its name refer, is use to post any content on steemit. This key is use to upvote on others post. The comment on the posts is possible using posting key. This key should also be secured

Memo Key

Memo key is use to encrypt and decrypt messages on the platform. The basic purpose of encryption and decryption is the secure messaging. This key allow the secure messaging on the blockchain and thus protect the user's data.

Question 3: How do you plan on keeping your master password?

I have saved my master password in form of pdf file. I have saved that pdf on email. I have written this password on my document which is accessible only by me.

QUESTION 4: Do you know how to transfer your Steem token to another Steem user account?

Yes! I know how to transfer my steem token to another Steem user. Below are the steps to follow to perform transaction on steemit.

STEP 1: Go to your wallet

Step2: Click on steem and select transfer

Step3: Another page will be opened

STEP 2: On the transfer page

Step 3: Add the name of the user you want to transfer steem to

Step 4: Add in the amount of steem to be sent

Step 5: Click next.

STEP 6: This will open another page

Step 7: ENter your memo key

Step 8: Click OK.

QUESTION 5: Do you know how to power up your steem token?

Yes I know how to power up your steem token.

STEP 1: Go to your wallet

Step 2: Click on steem,

Step 3: Select power up

STEP 4: A page will open

Step 5: Click on power up

STEP 6: Another page will open

Step 8: Click OK.
