The word 'plagiarism' means taking someone else's piece of work or ideas as your own without properly acknowledging the author/creator. Plagiarism has become so common in these days mostly due to the surge in technological development and unlimited access to any information on the internet.
This is commonly done by using pictures, videos, audios, articles etc that are originally created by another person without citing the source of the piece.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

There are so many ways plagiarism is done. Someone might have probably plagiarized another person's work without even being aware of that. The following are the various types of plagiarism;

Complete/Global Plagiarism

This type of plagiarism occurs when someone takes or presents the entire piece of work of another person as their own without citation.

Paraphrasing Plagiarism

This is when another person's work is rephrased without properly citing the author.

Verbatim Plagiarism

This type of Plagiarism is said to have occurred when someone's work/ideas are copied directly without citation. In this type, the copied work (passage/paragraph) is not rephrased.

Mosaic Plagiarism

This type refers to the combination of ideas and texts usually gotten from different sources without citation.

Self Plagiarism

This type of plagiarism occurs when you reuse your own ideas/works that have been submitted already.

Incorrect Citation

This occurs one does not give all the important information in the citation of the source.
