ACHIEVEMENT3 BY @MYKEB TASK: CONTENT ETIQUETTES

INTRODUCTION

Fellow steemians, new and experienced, thanks for being part of this progressive journey. Please go along with me as I attempt to express my understanding of important component of content creation - the answer to the question - What is plagiarism?

I want to start this post with a story that shows plagiarism is taken for granted by some while it is completely rejected in civilized quarters.

An English Language teacher asked students which included two siblings to write essay on a pet they have. These siblings, a brother and sister, had a pet dog. The sister took time to write about all she knew about their pet. At night, her brother took her essay and copied. Next morning, they submitted their homework. When the teacher drew their attention to what happened, the young man said that since they were writing about the same pet dog, there was no need for different perspective.

Could this be the same pitfall for all newcomers on Steemit?

"Yes"

Reason being that all of us have to write on the same achievement topics. Beyond this, as Steemit is content platform, some could attempt to feel comfortable with lifting other people's content without permission.

In the world of content creation, plagiarism takes the form of "copying or paraphrasing someone's published or unpublished work without proper acknowledgement or representing someone's artistic or technical work or creation as your own"-Jennifer Calonia

Plagiarism is what it is - a form of pretension or masquerading as authority or originator of a particular content while in reality the "author" is a copier. It is a form of digital dishonesty that should be condemned and avoided.

Plagiarism is completely objected in intellectual space because among other things it amounts to waste of time, undermines the principles of creativity and originality. Therefore, I join million others to take a stand against plagiarism.

For Content creditability on the platform, "I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquettes on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them."

With regards
