Hey everyone, I hope you guys are doing well. Today I’m here with my achievement3 task which is about Content Etiquette.

In this task, I will mainly focus on Plagiarism. So, let’s start-

What is Plagiarism?

When we copy someone's content without their permission and use this for our own interest then it counts as plagiarism.

Types of plagiarism:-

After doing some research I found out there are 4 types of plagiarism.

  1. Direct Plagiarism
  2. Accidental Plagiarism
  3. Mosaic Plagiarism
  4. Self Plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism:- When a person does a search on the web and copies the whole article from a website without the permission of the owner and uses it for their personal interest then it is direct plagiarism.

Accidental Plagiarism:- It happens when someone Ignores or fails to cite the source, or makes a mistake in the proper quotations. That’s why it is very important to include the source if you copy anything from anywhere.

Mosaic Plagiarism:- This refers to when someone copies another person's work without adding quotation marks around it, indicating that he or she is not the true owner of the work.

Self Plagiarism:- This is when someone copies their own work; it's called self-copying when you keep reusing your work after you've already used or published it.

How can you avoid plagiarism?

Before you begin your own work, you must conduct thorough research.
If you copy the work, you must cite the source of your work, which implies you must state where you got it.
It is preferable to focus your concentration on creating your own work rather than wondering about where to imitate from.
Before publishing your work, you should always run it via a plagiarism checker. For better results, you can use paid plagiarism checkers.

Remember, plagiarism is punishable.

Using the markdown style described below, you can cite any image.
You must first obtain the link to the image you wish to post, following which you must copy the link and paste it as described below.
[Source] (the link of the image or the source)

How to put citation Example:-

Quotation Marks- This is basically a symbol ("") used at the beginning and the end of a sentence and it will mean that you are not the owner of that particular sentence. Here is an example -

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." - Lao Tzu
Source

Mark-up Format:- Another format that you can use is this one. This is the (>) symbol. The following is an example.

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
-Friedrich Nietzsche
