Achievement 3 by @mexacliff. Task: Content etiquette
Hello Steemians, it's good to be back again after a long break. Am presenting my 3rd Achievement on Content etiquette.
Steemit is a blogging platform with different communities of different interests. There are also contests on this platform. Most of them might be something we have little knowledge of. When that happens Google rings on our minds, within a twinkle of an eye we are there already. This predisposes us to Plagiarism giving need for this particular achievement.
Plagiarism is condemned in all aspects of writing and steemit isn't left out.
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the act of presenting ones work as yours, without the owner's permission.
Source
It could be done electronically and manually.
There are types of plagiarism, as pictoraly described below:
Source
None of this type is acceptable.
Plagiarism can be prevented through:
- Sourcing materials that are not yours, that means including links of the site where the information was gotten.
- Quotations ("") should be used when quoting directly from an author to differentiate them from the original content.
Citations
Citations are often made in writings when someone's words are directly quoted. Cited texts are differentiated from the main texts using quotation signs ("") open and close.
Example
Pneumonia in children have increased in number. "Pneumonia is spread by infected people who carry the germs in fluid droplets in their throats, noses or mouths. The infected person coughs the germs into the air. Your child breathes in the germs or comes in direct contact with the infected person’s saliva or mucous by touching something. It is possible to catch pneumonia from someone who does not know he is sick. Pneumonia cannot be “caught” by walking outside without a coat". Source
The first sentence is a direct text, while the rest is a copied text and the site sourced.
Having read and understood content etiquette, I'll avoid plagiarism through the aforementioned ways.
I am grateful to @cryptokannon, @focusnow and @ngoenyi for their assistance.

Thanks so much for the invite, I'll subscribe
Thank you very much @mexacliff. Best regards.
Hello @mexacliff, you have got less than 200 words of your own content in this post. You need to extend a bit more to reach at least 200 of your own words about plagiarism. You also need to make an example of how to cite a paragraph from internet properly.
Check out this tutorial

I stop by to inform you that I have successfully verified your achievement. You can now continue with the program and perform your achievement #4, which is called applying markdown. Here I leave you the link to a publication about it, so that you can develop your next activity. Remember that the achievements' posts must be posted within the Newcomers' Community. Success for you.
Important information: remember that completing your tasks up to achievement #4 of the achievement program makes you eligible to be part of the support program for newcomers called 500SP Minnowsupport. I invite you to continue performing your other achievements.
