Who don't want their work to spread? Authors and content creators too want their works to be shared. But as a reader we need to be more careful with our actions and responsibility if we want to share the content or make our own blog through the same content, or want to post anywhere because taking the credits from the works of others or don't give credit them properly could charged you to Plagiarism.

Anyway, let us take a look first of the meaning of Content Etiquette and Plagiarism.

Content Etiquette

Etiquette are the set of rules or customs that control accepted behavior in particular social groups or social situations.

But we are talking of Content Etiquette.
So it refers to the guidelines which control the way a responsible reader should be.

SO AS A READER WHAT ARE THE ETIQUETTE THAT WE NEED TO FOLLOW?

  1. We must to give credit or use the authors name properly as what they have written or use in their work. This is the most important thing, giving credits to someone for their job well done.
  2. If we read it online cite the link of the page.
  3. When using image put the source of the image.
  4. If you want to copy a quote from someone using a quoting sign or putting the authors name or publication date and place are accepted.
  5. You can't post someone's content and claiming as it yours.
  6. You can't copy someone's work word by word and not giving credit to the authors and claiming as it yours by changing the title.

(Joseph C. Kunz, Jr.`s)

These are just some of the Etiquettes that a reader must to follow to avoid trouble.

Let us proceed to Plagiarism.

Plagiarism.

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence.

The best way to avoid from Plagiarism is to learn and employ the Content Etiquette. Following the simple rules will stay us away from trouble. Let us show respect and fairness to someone so in return they will show respect and fairness in us.

So, we steemian we need to give extra careful because if we are thought to have plagiarized a serious cases will be and it is a serious matter. So it it is important to acknowledge always the author and cite the references that we used.

That is all for this task. See you to my next task which is in Achievement 4.

I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them. Thank you soo much :)

It is also better to define the source of the content which you have copied from someone else.
