Assalamu Alaikum

My name is Mahedi Hasan from Bangladesh. My steemit username is @mahedi650 . Today I will present my achievement-3 post. Before introducing Achievement-3 I want to thank everyone. I would like to thank @ripon0630 for verifying my achievement -1 and achievement -2 . Also, I am very grateful to @cryptokannon without whose guiding lines it would not have been possible for us beginners to move forward. Thanks to every member of the NewCommerce community for giving me the right guidelines, help and support.

However, the topic I want to talk about today is Content Etiquette & Plagiarism

Content etiquette refers to the guidelines for creating and sharing content in an appropriate and respectful manner. This includes things like avoiding plagiarism, being mindful of cultural sensitivities, and using language that is inclusive and respectful. Additionally, content etiquette may include guidelines for sharing and reposting content, such as giving credit to the original creator.

What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the act of using someone differently's work or ideas without giving them proper credit. This can include copying and pasting textbook from a source, rephrasing a source without proper citation, or presenting someone differently's work as your own. Plagiarism is considered a serious offense in academic settings and can affect in penalties similar as failing an assignment or a class. In professional setting, it can lead to termination or a legal action.

There are several types of plagiarism, including:

1.Direct plagiarism: which occurs when someone copies text directly from a source without citation.

2.Mosaic plagiarism: which occurs when someone uses phrases or sentences from a source but rearranges or alters them slightly.

3.Self-plagiarism: which occurs when someone reuses their own previously published work without citation.

4.Accidental plagiarism: which occurs when someone unintentionally fails to cite a source.

5.Paraphrasing plagiarism: which occurs when someone paraphrases a source without proper citation.

6.Fabrication plagiarism: which occurs when someone invents data or quotes.

7.Cyberplagiarism:which occurs when someone cut and paste material from digital sources without citation.

The consequences of plagiarism can be severe and long-lasting. Some potential consequences include:

Academic penalties: In academic settings, plagiarism can result in a failing grade on an assignment, a failing grade in a class, or even expulsion from school.

Professional penalties: In the professional world, plagiarism can result in loss of a job, damage to a reputation, or legal action.

Legal penalties: Plagiarism can also result in legal action if the plagiarism involves copyrighted material.

Ethical penalties: Plagiarism is a violation of academic integrity, and can damage one's reputation and integrity.

Financial Penalties: If the plagiarism involves copyrighted material and the person is found guilty, then they may have to pay damages to the original author or publisher.

Emotional Penalties: Plagiarism can also cause a lot of stress, guilt, and emotional turmoil for the person who committed it.

It's important to note that plagiarism is a serious offense and should be avoided at all costs. It is always better to be safe than sorry and to understand the rules of academic integrity before submitting any work.

To avoid plagiarism, one can take the following steps:

  1. Understand the definition of plagiarism and the consequences of committing it.
  2. Cite all sources used in a paper or project, including direct quotes and paraphrased information.
  3. Use plagiarism detection tools to check your work for any unintentional plagiarism.
  4. Use quotation marks around any direct quotes and include a citation immediately after the quote.
  5. Paraphrase information from sources and include a citation.
  6. Create a works cited or reference page at the end of your paper or project.
  7. Keep a record of all sources used in the research process.
  8. Always give credit to the original author and never pass off someone else's work as your own.
  9. Avoid self-plagiarism by not reusing work that you have previously submitted.
  10. Familiarize yourself with the specific citation guidelines required by your institution or publisher.

How to cite a source:

Citing a source depends on the citation style required by the publication or institution you are writing for. Generally, there are three components to a citation:

In-text citation: This is a brief reference to the source within the text of your document.

Reference list: This is a list of all the sources cited in your document, placed at the end of the document.

Format: Each citation style has its own specific format for how to present the information about a source.

Anti-plagiarism process: To de-plagiarize an article we can use sources of writing. But to do this we can use code like [Source] (.....)

Citation Example:

Example No 1 :

A mangrove is a shrub or tree that grows in coastal saline or brackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves are taxonomically diverse, as a result of convergent evolution in several plant families. They occur worldwide in the tropics and subtropics and even some temperate coastal areas, mainly between latitudes 30° N and 30° S, with the greatest mangrove area within 5° of the equator.source

Example No 2 :

"Lalbagh Fort (Bengali: লালবাগ কেল্লা) is a fort in the old city of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Its name is derived from its neighborhood Lalbagh, which means Red Garden. The term Lalbagh refers to reddish and pinkish architecture from the Mughal period. The original fort was called Fort Aurangabad."Source

Example No 3 :

The Sixty Dome Mosque (Bengali: ষাট গম্বুজ মসজিদ Shaṭ Gombuj Moshjid; more commonly known as Shait Gambuj Mosque or Saith Gunbad Masjid), is a mosque in Bagerhat, Bangladesh.source

Since I am a little member of steemit, I and we should refrain from such plagiarism. And yes, if I copy paste any text from internet or book or anyone then I will mention its link.

Finally I would like to say, I have read and understand the Steemit Community Rules and Etiquette. And I will not do anything outside of Steemit community rules and etiquette.I will try to follow all the rules as much as possible.
I am asking for help and support from everyone in the NewCommerce community. I hope everyone will help me to move to the next step. Another name for love is the NewCommerce community.
