Achievement 1/ Verification by Introduction
Hello Steemit Community,
Back in 2018, I was living in New York and working in crypto social media marketing. I signed up for an event on Meetup.com that involved a tour within a small museum-like set-up created by the company that started STEEM. During this tour, you could learn about STEEM, blockchain, and the dApps associated with it. I was impressed with event, so I decided to create a Steemit account. I made a few posts, but didn’t know enough about this platform to use it consistently. As time passed, I became busy with other stuff and then couldn’t remember where I had stored the password information. A few days ago, I was able to find my password and log-in. I discovered the tradition of the #introducemyself post, so I’ve decided to introduce myself now, even though my account was set up in 2018.
Since 2018, a lot has changed in my life. I no longer live in New York and I am a single parent to my daughter, Gabby. During quarantine, I got around to writing and illustrating the children’s book I always wanted to create. After self-publishing the first one on Amazon, I decided to publish another. Soon, it became a children's book series and it has become a passion ever since. Gabby is the “quality assurance coordinator” for the books and we are a creative team. Our books are a travel series with a new take on the classic “this little piggy” nursery rhyme. We plan to use Steemit more consistently to share photos of our books, illustrations, interesting facts about the places in our books, and other creative ideas. I use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create the illustrations, so I'm happy to offer tutorials on these programs, too. At first, we recommend you to continue making Achievement posts in Newcommers community and review this tutorial with the answers for the most important questions. Don’t you worry if for the first few days or even weeks you will be making the mistakes or writing great quality posts without expected income. Give yourself the time for learning all the stuff and being discovered by other users :) Write every day (or almost every day) and you will surely become successful at some point.
Before you will start writing, you have to select the communities where you want to be active. I recommend you to choose those of them that are related to your hobbies and, obviously, not too small. Personaly, I’d select any community with more than 75 users, but it’s your choice. To make it easier, I’m sending the link to the complete list of active communities on Steemit (searcher does not work well, so it’s better to use that list instead)
Finally, I would love to invite you to my own community Steem-Travelers. It’s all about traveling, culture, cuisine from all around the world, traditions et cetera. Plenty of great content to read and comment, plenty of interesting posts that you cound write there as well. We always appreciaate the best quality content, we are putting a lot of attention to the quality of the community announcements, graphics of the community as well as additional programs, like Guide with Travelers where you can offer your services as the local tour guide for some STEEM or Stay with Travelers where you can offer your apartment, room or bed in a shared room to rent for STEEM, a bit ‘Couchsurfing style’.
