Achievement 2: Basic Security
“Well it took me long enough to finally post this: My Achievement 2 post and I got some help from @doppley ...... TBH I never considered these keys to be of any importance ...... They just seemed too long to memorize and there seemed to be nothing interesting about them”
I have already studied each keys and known their respective uses .. I used to think they were all backups in case I had any issue with my account but now I have come to the realization that each key has a designated purpose.
Master Key : This has the highest hierarchy. And I’m not surprised because losing this key simply means losing access to your account. Disclosure of this key to anyone else poses a great risk.
Owner Key : This is used to change keys in the account . It can also be used for account recovery and declination of voting rights .
Active Key : This can also be considered as one of the most important keys as it is used in carrying out financial activities like powering up /down, Steem conversions, witness voting and fund transfer.
Memo Key : This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds.
The Memo Key is only used to encrypt and decrypt private messages that are sent through the blockchain, and it’s not really in use commonlyPosting Key : This is used for Social activities like Dairy posts, Achievement Posts, Commenting, Editing, Following of accounts etc.
HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKENS TO OTHER ACCOUNTS AND HOW TO POWER UP
Transfer: As stated earlier, the active key is required for this transaction.
Tap on your wallet to open the wallet page and click on the little arrow beside the steem as indicated in the picture above.
Choose transfer from the drop-down menu
Fill the form with the required information and hit next
Your active key will be required and boom!!, your transaction is done within seconds.
Power up: Powering up helps you to increase the influence you make with your account in voting and curating.
Follow the steps as given above but this time, choose power up instead of transfer
Fill the forms with the required information and hit next and then input your acting key .
You have successfully completed achievment 2 on "Basic Security on Steem". You next task is to complete achivement 3 : Content Etiquette.

Just ensure you have your keys saved off line in a safe place, 3 months ago my laptop died and thankfully i had my keys backed up on a USB drive.
