ACHIEVEMENT 2 TOPIC: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEMIT
Good day Steemit Community! It is so much fun to be here truly. I'm super excited to have found you guys. The format for the Steemit community reminded me of a variety of social media websites. Then it dawned on me how different it was when I joined. I was told to download a PDF document containing the most complex set of passwords I have ever seen (except those recommended by Google; those passwords are simply impossible!).
I wondered to myself, "Why all these password? Won't one password do the trick?"
As I got to know more about Steemit, I discovered that the password served tremendous purpose and were of utmost importance. These passwords or ,"pass keys" as they are called, could make or mar your entire Steemit journey if they fall into the wrong hands.
Via this article, I'll walk you through these pass keys and some of their uses and importance. Hop on the train, folks!
KEYS USED IN STEEMIT
PRIVATE POSTING KEY
This is the key you actually use to log into a user's profile(yours or someone else's). This password contains about 50 characters in it. . You use this password to do the following actions:
-Make posts
-Access the Steemit wallet of the owner of the password
-Commenting on posts on Steemit
-Perform the action of upvoting and downvoting posts
-Resteem posts etc
PRIVATE MASTER PASSWORD
This password is used by a steemit user to generate other new passwords/passkeys. Clearly, this password is super important and is often advised to be kept offline, safe from the clutches of dangerous hackers.
HOW TO KEEP THE PRIVATE MASTER PASSWORD SAFE?
Keeping this master password safe can be done by keeping it offline like writing it on paper or storing in anywhere safe and unreachable by hackers.
MEMO KEY
The memo key is the key that is used for decrypt and encrypt memos in fund transfers.
PRIVATE ACTIVE KEY
This key is used for the following:
-for carrying out wallet transactions like when you want to power down and power up transactions which can be seen on the steem wallet on the drop down box
-updating profile details on your profile
-placing market orders
-converting SBD [steem dollars]
PRIVATE OWNER'S KEY
This is the key used by a Steemit user for recovery purposes. It is also used to change his/her passwords if there has been a breach of security or any form of compromise.
In addition to the above keys given, a user is given some Tron (TRX) keys that the user can share with whomever he/she wishes to do so As for the above keys, they should always be kept secret and offline, if possible.
After doing all that I want to do with my keys, I will retrieve them and store them safely. This could be done by keeping it in a hard drive or by simply writing it down in book because there could be damage to the hard drive in future. The most important key to protect is your private master key because you can do a lot with it.

STEEM WALLET
Below is a picture showing what the Steemit wallet looks like. You can only access this page after you have logged in.

Let's dive now into the purpose of even having a Steemit wallet: making transfers, withdrawals, deposits of steem or in binance.
TRANSFERRING STEEM TO A STEEM WALLET
Below are the steps for doing a transfer on Steemit Wallet
STEP1: click on that small drop down button besides the steem value you currently have

STEP2: select the "Transfer" and you'll see the page below show up.

STEP3: Fill in the boxes appropriately then and click on "Next". This will then show you, "successful". Within the Memo section, you are expected to fill in your binance address if you wish to transfer to a binance address. Enter the amount you wish in the provided box.

HOW TO POWER UP
. Sign into your wallet.
. Select the "drop down" arrow beside "STEEM"

. Type in the amount of Steem you wish to power up

You forgot to answer this simple and yet very important question :
Good day @sumit71428. Under the heading, PRIVATE MASTER PASSWORD, I wrote that it should be kept affline due to the high level of importance of this password. This could be done by writing it doen and storing jn a safe place as the storage pf this password in anyelectronic entity (email, laptop etc) is prone to being hacked.
