ACHIEVEMENT THREE (3) || CONTENT ETIQUETTE ||BY @justeenah
Greetings to my fellow steemians and great leaders of this platform who have provided an opportunity for us to learn and earn. I still remain grateful to those who verified and voted my achievement 1 & 2 tasks.
INTRODUCTION
Learning is a never-ending process. The skills I gained from completing my achievement 1 and 2 tasks have greatly aided me in this platform, and I am now ready to move on to the achievement 3 work.
The third (3) task is about content etiquette, and we'll be focused on plagiarism.
How do you feel when you are the creator or owner of an idea or a piece of work and someone else uses it without giving you credit? Isn't it true that you're in a poor mood?
Let's take a closer look at plagiarism.
WHAT IS PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism, to the best of my knowledge, is the act of using another person's work, ideas, or words as if they were your own. A plagiarist is someone who plagiarizes. Plagiarism can be either deliberate or unintentional.
As a library and information science student while in school, our instructors took the time to explain plagiarism and its ramifications to us. They took the time to thoroughly check each assignment and piece of academic writing to guarantee that it was free of plagiarism. If you pass off another author's work as your own without giving credit to the original author, you may be labeled a "literary thief."
We must be cautious while quoting and paraphrasing other people's work. Making other people's ideas appear to be your own is illegal. Let's not forget that plagiarism carries a penalty.
PLAGIARISM COULD BE IN FORM OF;
• Verbatim (word for word) quotation without clear acknowledgement
• Cutting and pasting from the Internet without clear acknowledgement
• Paraphrasing
• Inaccurate citation
• Failure to acknowledge assistance

STEEMIT PLAGIARISM
When someone accomplishes the following on the Steemit platform, they are deemed to have plagiarized;
• Copying and presenting (posting) someone else's literary content as your own. Plagiarism is defined as when a steemit member does this instead of creating his or her own original content.
• Duplication of a work found on the internet with no or insufficient citation. Every piece of information we require is available on the internet, but we must ensure that the original author is credited.
• Duplicating photos taken from multiple sources on the internet without permission or attribution.
PLAGIARISM HARMFUL EFFECTS ON STEEMIT
If you are detected plagiarizing on the Steemit platform, you will face the following consequences:
• It will result in a down vote for one's post. This means that steem members and leaders will not vote on a plagiarized post.
• It will cause suspicion, and one's reputation may suffer as a result. People will not regard you as a source of original content.
• If you have a habit of plagiarizing on Steemit, you may be barred from participating in numerous contests.
CONCLUSION
Plagiarism, as I've learned, is a disgrace to the steemit community. One can be barred from posting articles in the community as a result of Plagiarism.
Plagiarism is a bad idea because it might ruin your reputation,as people in the community will perceive you as untrustworthy or dishonest if they learn you're known for plagiarism.
The time you put into copying other people’s, you can use it to Work on becoming more creative and coming up with new ideas in your own words. Beware of Plagiarism as its consequences cannot be erased.
I have read and understood the steemit etiquette of the steemit community and will do my best to embrace them.
Thank you to my superiors for taking the time out of their busy schedules to verify my previous achievement tasks. I will be grateful if this third achievement task is verified too.
