Am happy to be able to write my achievement 3 post today and we are ask to write a post on plagiarism but before that I have a short story for you, this will help you picture the act of plagiarism well.

Ilado village

There is a village called ilado, the king loves farming alot so one-day he called all his citizen and made a promise to bless anybody whose farm produce the best crops with three gift he also promise to provide land for anybody interested out of his land but they are free to use any land, the villagers was happy and start making plans for the next planting season to receive the three gift.

When the planting season started everybody cultivate his land and always go there to check it everyday but there was a man named Dedu who refused to plant, he was busy playing, sleeping and doing anything he feel like doing when others are on the farm. one-day the king made another announcement again that by tomorrow morning everybody should go and stand by his/her farm because he will be sending out his chiefs to look at their farms and select the best farmer, everybody was happy and could not wait for tomorrow morning to reach so that they can go to their farm with the hope of been selected.

Immediately Dedu hear the news he was restlessness and was thinking of what to do since he want the gift but did not have a farm, a thought came to his mind so he took his torchlight at night and walk round all the farms in the village when he came across one beautiful one he hid in it till daybreak as the owner of the farm was coming in the morning to stand by it as the king ordered he kill him and claim the farm.

In the morning when the chief walk around they found the farm worthy of reward so they decided to take Dedu to the king for the three gift since they believed him that the farm was his. On there way to the palace the security officer stop them and arrest Dedu for murder and he was jailed.

Interpretation of the story.

1 . king ÷ steemit platform

10 . arrest and jail ÷ punishment for involving in plagiarism which can result in account closure.
11 . torchlight ÷ what we used to find other people post/work to copy.

What is plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of claiming ownership of others people work.

According to Cambridge dictionary "plagiarism is the process or practice of using another person's ideas or work and pretending that it is your own." Source

Some people might not see the fight against plagiarism as one important thing but did we know that plagiarism is a "theft because the writer takes ideas from a source without giving proper credit to the author. It is considered fraud because the writer represents the ideas as her or his own and it is illegal, and a violation of Unites States copyright laws."source we should all try an avoid it intentionally.

Types of plagerism

1 . complete plagiarism ÷ when one copy the whole work of others and claim it to be his
2 . direct plagerism ÷ when you copy a part of another body work without putting quotation
3 . source - bases plagiarism ÷ when you give incorrect or wrong source of the work.
4 . paraphrasing plagiarism ÷ when you take a work, change the word without the meaning and claim it as yours.
5 . Accidental plagiarism ÷ when you mistakenly perform paraphrasing plagiarism

Disadvantage of plagiarism.

1 . it hinder us from knowing the creativity and writing skills that we have.
2 . it destroy ones image and self worth
3 . it destroy the confidence we have in ourselves because we will always have this believe that we are not good in writing.
4 . it hinders the development of our writing skills
5 . it discouraged hardwork
6 . it crash our self respect and reputation.

Advantage of plagiarism.

it has no single benefit to mankind than to destroy it.

How to avoid plagerism

the only means to avoid doing plagiarism is through hardwork.

In conclusion,

Before we engage in the act of plagiarism let put ourselves in the shoes of those whose work want to be copy without credit/honour. Are we going to be happy or sad.
