PLAGIARISM

This simply means; when you make use of someone's work as if it is your own without giving the true owner of the work credit through a citation.

By citation I mean, referring to a particular work you lifted from someone's work back to him or his work. By giving him credit for that word or work. By letting the reader know that this writing, picture, audio, or video is coming from this or that place.

Types of plagiarism:

Plagiarism can come in the form of writing, picture, video, audio, etc.

▶Picture: when you use someone's picture in your work without citation.

▶Videos: cutting someone's video clip to add to your own.

▶Song: when you make use of someone's instrumental or verse in a song to add to your own.

▶Writing: when you make use of someone's write-up like your own or you took a part of someone's work and add to your own without citation.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM:

▶. Always make use of quotation marks (""). Whenever you are quoting somebody's work word to word, make use of quotation marks. It shows that the words are not yours.

▶. Changing work ideas or write-ups into your own. When doing this, be careful not to turn it into plagiarism.
