Achievement 3: Steemit Content Etiquette by @fharwha
what is plagiarism
plagiarism can be seen as the act of copying, whether ideas, works, material of other people, without even citing the sources from which we obtained such information, plagiarism can be seen a lot in the educational system when a student copies the work of another and makes it pass as his own, this is known as plagiarism or when, we see something interesting in a social network and we copy that information and publish it as if it were ours that is also plagiarism.
plagiarism can be identified as follows:
COMPLETE PLAGIARISM
This plagiarism is when the idea of someone is shamelessly copied completely without reference to it, this is a resounding theft from the author.
AUTO PLAGIARISM
self-plagiarism happens when an author presents an old work as new, that is, he wants to use the old work as new, self-plagiarism happens when a person copies himself.
PARAPHRASING
paraphrasing is the act of changing words, of a work, that is, changing them for a synonym, but retaining the same meaning in the work, it is not changed, the content only the words to this plagiarism is known as paraphrasing.
ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM
accidental plagiarism occurs by mere error, it happens when a person forgets to cite the sources or cite the author, many times it can happen that, we copy, from the web and we forget to cite or mention where we have obtained the information.
plagiarism is very frowned upon and that is why it should be avoided at all costs, we can never forget to cite the sources from
where we obtained information for example if i extracted information from an external site on the web we must place the exact source from where we obtained the information in this way: [source ] (here we will place the link of the page where we obtained the information)
that way we will be leaving the source of the site where we take this information, and if the source is
from an author we must quote it and place its name in quotation marks or italics in this way:"Charles Darwin"
let's use tools on the web to avoid plagiarism, there are many that can be of great help, and that will avoid many problems, within these tools we can see if our texts are free of plagiarism.
in this platform of steemit is plagiarism is clearly punished and that is why we must use what we learned in this achievement to make good use in this platform of our content, when making this achievement and we commit plagiarism and that is our fault, and we decided not to pay attention to this achievement, as users we must respect the rules and follow the correct steps, not committing plagiarism is one of them let's follow what we see in this achievement and let's be honest.
