WHAT IS PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is considered as the literary theft of another author's words or ideas, without acknowledging the source or the original author appropriately.
Plagiarism is like counterfeiting fraud and it is a serious ethical offense in steemit. It has always been a great concern, not only in steemit but the world as a whole.
However, the steemit leaders have ensured that anti-plagiarism measures are instuted in order facilitate the desired quality expected in steemit family and steemit community.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
- Music plagiarism: Intentional stealing of someone's lyrics and tone without his or her acknowledgment.
- Graphics plagiarism: Using graphs, chart, images without acknowledging from the source.
- Book plagiarism: coping another author's writings and posing as the author.
REASONS FOR PLAGIARISM
- Lack of value: low or no moral grounds on a particular given task always leads to plagiarism.
- Lack of deterrence: zero punishment for plagiarism gives more rise to it.
- Inability to understand the various types of work that constitute plagiarism.
HOW TO ELIMINATE PLAGIARISM
- Adequate deterrence
- Plagiarism awareness
- Launching plagiarism dectectation softwares.
