in Newcomers' Communitylast month
Assalam-o-Alaikum friends!

Welcome friends to my post. I'm @drcrypto1 and hopefully you all will be fine and will be enjoying your life by the grace of Almighty Allah. Friends, I'm here today for completing my achievement 3 in Newcomers' Community. In this achievement I have to write about "Content Etiquette". Let's start the topic without anymore waiting;

Content Etiquette

Content etiquette is way of writing content on steemit which is free of any type of plagiarism and give proper citation or source of copy write free images and links. Let's discuss about plagiarism and proper use of citation.

Plagiarism

The using other's words, ideas or overall content as own without their's permission and acknowledgement. The person who used this plagiarism content is called plagiarist. Plagiarism is a bad action and it kills the credibility of writing the ideas of a person in a content. This action is strictly prohibited in this platform.

Types of plagiarism:

According to my knowledge there are four main types of plagiarism which are explained below;

** Direct plagiarism:
The type of plagiarism which involves the direct using of other person's content without his permission or acknowledgment. The plagiarist direct copy the any part of the content and use it in his content and shows that he write it by his ideas.

Self plagiarism:

In this type of plagiarism the content writer copy his own content which he wrote in past in his post and use that content in his present post.

Accidental plagiarism:

Plagiarism which happens accidentally mean a person write a content and upload it but the same content was written by anyone in the past and the 1st is unaware of it. This type of plagiarism is said accidental and there's should no strict actions be taken.

Paraphrased plagiarism:

The using of someone's content without proper citation is called paraphrased plagiarism.

How to avoid plagiarism:

To avoid plagiarism we should;

  1. use plagiarism detection tools.
  2. Proper use of citation (like citation of quotes, phrases etc).
  3. write content in your own words and ideas.
  4. Give link of copy write free images in source.
  5. If we are facing any trouble we should seek help from seniors.
What is citation?

The given of proper source or link of usin someone's quotes or phrases in our content is called citation. It's very important for giving credit of original writer of the content. Citation also helps readers to seek more things by clicking cited link in the content. Below are some examples of citation;

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. source

The use of copyright free images;

In our content for making it beautiful we use images either self images or images from websites. For preventing plagiarism and any other inconvenience we shoulde use copyright free images like below is the image taken from copyright free image source.

Hi @drcrypto1 and welcome to Steemit,

I'm @the-gorilla and I'm available to help you start your journey. You can find me on the Discord channel for newcomers, where I will accompany you on this initial journey.

I see that you've already started your journey with us and have unfortunately been caught plagiarising by @wilmer1988. I now invite you to start our new Newcomers' Initiative.

We are pleased to inform you that Phase 1 of Newcomer Certification will take one month (so no sooner than 1st July 2024), during which you will be expected to publish regularly in the communities and initiatives of your choice. I recommend you join different communities according to your tastes and stay very active. You can consult all the communities 👉👉👉Here.

I suggest that you concentrate your writing on the topics that interest you the most and are related to you.

Important note: Do not plagiarize or use Artificial Intelligence to generate your content, this is strictly prohibited on Steemit. In addition, always use your own or copyright-free images, the following pages offer this service for free✅: https://unsplash.com/, https://pexels.com/, https://Freepik.com/, https: //pixabay.com/

During this period we also expect you to build relationships with other Steemians by actively reading, voting and commenting on their content. This is a crucial step in the validation process and will provide you with a solid foundation within the platform. We recommend you give 10 votes daily 😇

These recommendations are optional, of course, but we strongly recommend following this important approach 🙌

Here is a complete guide that will guide you during your journey on Steemit: 👉👉👉🆕 New to Steemit? Start Here! as well as more detail about the 📜 Newcomers' Certification which is entirely optional.

If you have any questions or need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask. We are all here to support each other and make Steemit a great community! 👍
