in Newcomers' Communitylast year
Greeting all my friends. This is my piece on plagiarism.

"By the end of that month, public officials and colleagues were beginning to challenge his reporting. By November, the investigation has found, he was fabricating quotations and scenes, undetected. By March, he was lying in his articles and to his editors about being at a court hearing in Virginia, in a police chief's home in Maryland and in front of a soldier's home in West Virginia. By the end of April another newspaper was raising questions about plagiarism. And by the first of May, his career at The Times was over." Source

Jason Blair and the New York Times in 2003, was a famous incident for plagiarism. Please carefully read the quoted text and find how embarrassing it is for a person to face the consequences of plagiarism. Not only these incidents but also many incidents such as this made considerable debate.

This is another prime example for such an incidents. Alright, then let me take you to learn about "Plagiarism".

What is Plagiarism

University of Oxford defines plagiarism as "Presenting work or ideas from another source as your own, with or without consent of the original author, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement" Source Further they reports that plagiarism damages the academic integrity. As a professional in academia, I have seen and heard many examples where thishappen. Using AI to create an assesment is also a form plagiarism.

What else is considered as plagiarism?

submitting someone person's work as your own, using someone else's words or ideas without providing credit, failing to put a quotation in quotation marks, providing incorrect information about the source of a quotation, changing words but copying a source's sentence structure without giving credit, copying so many words or ideas from a source that it constitutes the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not

Now I am trying to get your feed back here. What would you think of this potion I presented. Can it be considered plagiarism. You can go to the source and check. Looking for your replies.

Types of Plagiarism

Verbatim plagiarismWhen you use portions of others work and pasting it directly in your work without giving proper credit
Pharaphrasing PlagiarismThis when you use very close text that is used by the original author, even if you provide the credit. You need to use your own words to avoid plagiarism. Otherwise you should quote the text
Patchwork plagiarismAs the name suggest you use portions from different sources to file up a one portion of your text (or work).
Self PlagirismSometimes recycling your own work will result in plagiarism

Usually these things are accidental, apart from global plagiarism. But user should be aware of places you should provide qoutes, do citations and paraphrasing. To avoid you can either use many available plagiarism checkers also. List of Plagiarism Checkers

How to find whether, you are plagiarising.

This is a tough question, but indeed you can avoid plagiarism by following some common practice. So I would like to present a well developed checklist here. Yes, even graphics can be plagiarised. So ehen creating blogs make sure thet you provide properly citing attributes that are not original.
