My Introduction Post to Steemit || Mentorship by @cryptokannon

Peace be on to you friends! It's my great pleasure and privilege to meet you all here on this Steemit platform, the very best platform there is, if you ask me. Let me start by humbly introducing myself. I am Onyema Peter Chidi by name. I am 38 years old, happily married, and a father of two lovely kids. I am the first of all the eight children of my parents. I was born and brought up in Imo State of Nigeria, which is of course, my state of origin. I grew up, schooled and settled in Imo State.

AREA OF STUDY OR WORK

Having mentioned earlier that I schooled in Imo State, I want to give an insight into my educational background. After my primary education at Group School Ezuhu Nguru in Aboh Mbaise in 1994, and my secondary education at Advanced Commercial Academy Nguru in the year 2000, both in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, I gained addmision to study Accountancy at Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, and successfully graduated in 2011. I did my compulsory National Youth Service in 2012 and finished it in 2013. I did that Service in Kwara State to be precise.

I had already resolved from my secondary school days never to be dependent on anybody for whatever financial assistance. That was why I started combining my studies then with some menial jobs so that I would not add more burden on my parents who had seven other children to train in school and to care for . That resolve really paid me, my parents and siblings well. I eventually became a skilled mason before I finished my secondary school, and started making money to take care of myself and assist my parents and siblings. Later, I started handling building contracts even as an undergraduate. While running my Accountancy program, I was able to establish a computer business centre in that school environment, and a piggery farm in my village.

After graduating since ten years ago, I have never secured any job with my certificate as an accountant. But, I've been married since seven years ago, and I live up to my family responsibilities as a husband, father, and an elder brother. This was possible because, God blessed my efforts in that skill I acquired many years ago. I wonder what would have happened if I didn't acquire that skill. In every plan, making room for plan B really pays!

HOBBIES AND PASSION

Listening to music, reading, and traveling are my hobbies. If I don't have anything serious that must take me outside, I can stay indoors for months provided there are books and light or fuel to run generator. I also take delight in traveling as I learn a lot from mixing up with people of different backgrounds and cultures as well as their natural environments. I have been able to be in 17 states of Nigeria. Helping people to actualize their dreams of transforming their bushes and empty lands into beautiful houses has always been my passion. I'm always joyful when my clients' faces radiate with smiles and happiness anytime they come to their sites for inspections. That has kept me in the construction field. That's why I don't feel it that I'm not practicing my profession till date.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH CRYPTO

I have no much experience with crypto but, I first heard about it passively 4years ago. I didn't care to inquire much about it then. Recently, crypto has become a household name. Hence, the desire to know more about it has become my driving force, as knowledge is power.

DISLIKE

Having flexibility, adaptability, and tolerance as my guiding qualities, I have no dislike for now.

WHAT SORT OF POSTS WRITTEN BY OTHERS ARE YOU LIKING FOR?

Variety and diversity are the beauty of life. In everyone's post, there must be a sense that the writer intends making, and a salient point he wants to drive at. So, my job is to patiently go through them with the keen interest of identifying those points and sense he is making on those posts. I'm honestly longing to read all sorts of posts written by others regardless of their backgrounds, professions, cultures, and experiences in life.

WHAT SORT OF POSTS DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BE CREATING?

My posts will touch many aspects of human endeavours, ranging from my experiences in entrepreneurship, finances, tourism, farming, business, construction, to my hobbies and passion as I mentioned above. Someone has once described me as a friend of his, and "a multi-talented fellow". That, I want all in this platform to help me confirm when posts start coming in.

HOW YOU FOUND STEEMIT AND WHAT YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH HERE?

I found Steemit through a sister and friend @ngoenyi. I have already developed a keen interest in knowing much about cryptocurrency since it has become a household name and the desire of many. So, I hope to learn more about cryptocurrency and to share what I learnt with others.

In conclusion, I'm grateful to @ngoenyi for introducing me to this platform, and her willingness to mentor me. I'm also grateful to @cryptokannon and @focusnow for their assistance to newborns on the platform like me.
