Originality and creativity are considered very key in the steemit ecosystem and must be upheld to the highest standard. Of course originality and creativity are very important, but what good will originality and creativity do when the write up is messy and difficult to read? This post will elaborate on Applying Markdowns to make write ups presentable and easy to read.

Markdown

It is a markup language that makes it possible to edit and format text documents for better presentation and easy reading. This makes text documents appealing to the readers eye. This post will highlight a few markdowns and how to implement them in text documents.

1. Headlines

This is used to create headings and titles in text documents. This makes titles and headings stand out from other text. This effect is achieved by typing the number sign (#) followed by the text to be use as heading. As the number of number signs increase, the size if the text decrease. Space must be left between the number sign and the text. This is demonstrated below.

2. Making Text Bold.

It is very similar to headlines and can also be used to write titles. This is implemented by typing ** or __ before and after the text to be boldened. No spaces should be left between the ** or __ and the text in question. This is implemented below.

3. Making Text Italic

Text with this kind of markdown is slightly slanted to the right and used to highlight key words and phrases in text documents. This is done by typing * or _ before and after the text or phrase. Make sure there is no space between the *or _ and the text. This is shown below.

4. Creating Tables

When comparing two things or listing things belonging to different categories, It is easier to use tables because it reduces workload and beautifies presentations. Tables are created by adding hyphens. The more the hyphens, the more space you have for each column header. The columns are separated using pipes (|). This demonstrated below.

5. Blockquotes

Most of the time you would like to include somebody's statement in your write up to emphasize a point. This made possible by blockquotes. This is accomplished by typing greater than sign (>) and the followed by the quote in question.

6. Alignment

This describes the positioning of text, phrases and picture in a text document. Based on the position of the object in question, alignments can be classified as left, center or right alignment. All the various types of alignments are demonstrated below.
