Some Tips On How to Secure Your Keys.
With the recent thing happening and as a victim of it I have decided to change my security measures.
Following ideas from my colleagues, mentors and friends, I have decided to store my keys offline using the following security tips.
Tip 1: Try to change your password 1 every 2months or 3 months, not because it has been compromised but because of safety, you don't know who might have access to your account so changing it every 2months keeps it a lot safer.
Tip 2: Save your passwords offline, after they have been downloaded use an external drive, flash or anything to save back them up and keep them where only you can find them, for me I have them in my flash and make use of then only when I need them.
Saving them online is very risky as you might loose them to hackers.
Tip 3: Stop clicking on links and also stop sharing links that has nothing to do with your personal post to people. Try to keep them safe and for you stop clicking links that has nothing to do with steemit.
Most of us are looking for a shorter way to make the money and end us loosing everything, one link can take all your funds.
Lastly Tip 4: Be on guard always, it mustn't be your account so when you smell something fishy try to create awareness so others can follow.
I will also like to propose to the steemit board to create a steemit security team for investigations and supports.
Let's try to stay safe and make Steem a better blog
