Sophie again and I'm here to talk about the different keys on steem and it's several security measures taken to secure one's account. On joining steemit, I was told to keep my keys safe which at that time seemes strange to me, however thanks to a post by @cryptokannon I was able to understand their importance and would be divulging what I understood as their importance. Before starting, I would like to point out that despite look like a normal Social media platform,steemit has certain means of safeguarding and securing users details, these means are what I'll be talking on

Do I know each of these keys functions and restrictions?
Yes I do and the below post simply explains my understanding of their functions

Keys are combinations of letters and numbers which serves as passwords for various steps in a users steemit journey. They are to be kept safe and not shared with a third party at all times. They include: master password, posting keys, active keys, owner keys and memo key. All of which I'll be explaining their functions

MASTER PASSWORD: As the name implies, its used to derive all keys for an account hence like a master key or card if you may have it, it should be kept safe probably saved offline or on an external hard drive for easyyet secured access.

POSTING KEY: This is the key which allows you to post, comment, edit, vote, mute and follow other accounts, basically its the key allowing you to carry out basic social activities on the platform. It also allows the user do special tasks such as resteeming, up voting and down voting

ACTIVE KEY: this key is used for more specific and sensitive tasks such as updating profile details and avatar, voting for witness, transferring funds, power up/down transactions, converting steem dollars and placing a market order. Basically it's the key that allows you do the extra special tasks specific to stermit platform

OWNERS KEY: This is an important key and is often referred to as the most powerful key as it can change any key of an account including the owner key. It is used only to recover a compromised account and change other keys

MEMO KEY: This key is important in encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds, and is to be used after the pound sign(#)

How Do I Plan To Keep My Master Password?
My master passwords is stored in my external hard drive which is safe.

Have I retrieved all my keys?
Yes I have and i stored them in a safe place too
HOW TO RETRIEVE KEYS: it is important to note that your account has real value unlike other social media accounts hence there is no way to retrieve your account if your keys are lost particularly your master and owner key. With this said it would be wise to have an offline copy of yoyr keys. However if you do have your master password, all you have to do is input it in your wallet, click on keys and permits and generate new keys.

In addition to the above stated keys, certain other keys such as tron keys and public keys are given, and these in my opinion are the only keys which could be shared.

WALLET AND IT'S FEATURES

The wallet is accessible after the user has successfully logged into their account, clicking on the tripple horizontal line on the upper right end of the page displays a list with #wallet on it, clicking on it should bring an interface looking like this

Do I know how to transfer my steel token to another steem user account

HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKENS:
steem tokens can be transferred from one's steem account to another steem account or from one steem account to a binance wallet in the case of withdrawals

STEEM WALLET TO STEEM WALLET:
STEPS:
-with wallet open, click on the drop down button besides the steem valve you have(mine being at 0.001)

-select # transfer button which opens up a dialogue interface which looks like this

-fill in the boxes accurately and proceed but clicking the #next button. This should take you to a "Transfer successful" page.

STEEM WALLET TO BINANCE WALLET
The steps are same as above except in this case the # To box would be filled with "deepcrypto8" and # memo box should be filled with your binance wallet address

Do I know how to power up my steem?

TO POWER UP

-Click on the drop down button besides your steem value,click on the power up button (note that this will ask you how much of the liquid steel you want to power up)

-you could choose to power up your entire balance or just a certain amount

• when done filling the boxed click on the power up button. After some seconds you'll notice your steem power has increased. Thereby successfully powered up.
