There is always a lot of fulfilment in realising original and motivational content using ones own creativity and ideas.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism is the use of someone else's work (ideas, images, words information music, art etc), without giving them proper credit. However, not all information must be cited as some are considered to be common sense.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
1, Global plagiarism : Involves plagiarizing an entire text like an essay or an assignment completed by someone else.

2,Patchwork or mosaic plagiarism:This involves copying phrases, passages, and ideas from different sources to make a new text.

3, Incremental plagiarism: This is when one inserts a small amount of plagiarized content in a mostly original text.

4, Self-plagiarism: Recycling your own previous work that you’ve already submitted or published.

WHY IS PLAGIARISM WRONG?

Plagiarism does not give credit to the person that originally created the work.

Plagiarism is a form of dishonesty and misleads your readers.

plagiarism is often seen as a type of theft.

CONSEQUENCES OF PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism can damage your reputation and land you in legal problems.

Not giving the original artist or creator credit could lead to loss of due income or finances for them.

Intellectual property is against the law if it’s copyright, and often has legal implications.

HOW CAN PLAGIARISM BE AVOIDED

Always cite your sources and fit them properly into your text by either quoting or paraphrasing.

When you want to express an idea or information from a source, paraphrase or summarize it.

When you want to include an exact phrase, sentence or passage from a source, quote any text that is copied directly from the source.

HOWEVER, plagiarism may be accidental in any of the following cases (but the consequences still apply).

Forgetting to use quotation marks for a quote.

Paraphrasing too closely to the original text .

Mentioning an idea that you read somewhere without citing it.

Including the wrong information in a citation.

Not including a complete reference list at the end of your paper.
