Hello Steemians all over the world. My name is Ade and I am known as @adeade. It has been a few weeks since I completed my achievement-1 introductory task. I use this medium once again to thank those that guided me in completing the task, those that upvoted my post, the commenters, and so on. I so much appreciate you all.

After my verification, I decided to hold in order to understand the navigation of steemit terrain. I also thank those who have been showing me round, those who are always instilling the rules and regulations of the platform. I may not be able to mention everyone but I can't do without mentioning one of person - @bossj23.

Now that it's time for me to embark on the achievement-2 task. The achievement-2 is about the basic security on the steemit platform.

💥Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

I am someone who does not joke with passwords. Retrieval of all my keys was one of the first things I did while signing up. Even though I knew nothing about the importance of those keys then, I knew they were important. I followed the instructions to retrieve them and kept them in a very safe place. These keys include:

  • Master Key
  • Posting Key
  • Active Key
  • Owner Key
  • Memo Key

💥Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Each of the keys I listed above has its own functions and level of security. I will describe them one after the other:

Master key

This is the password given at the time of registering one's account. It is the most important and master of all other keys. It can be used to reset all other keys.

💥Posting Key

The Posting Key is the lowest security level on steemit. It's usefulness is as follows:

  • Posting of articles
  • Posting of comments
  • Replying a post
  • Replying a comment
  • Upvoting and downvoting posts and comments whenever it is required.

However, despite it's security level, the posting key can still be used to sabotage one's account to some degree. Therefore, it has to be kept secured.

Note: I always sign into my steemit account with my posting key.

If you're able to say with a reasonable degree of certainty that the website/service looks qualified, and that other users have used it without worries, it's generally fine to give them your posting key.

💥Active Key

This is the key that secures the financial aspect of one's account. The functions of the active key is as follows:

  • Transfer of Steem to savings account
  • Transfer of sbd to savings account
  • Transfer to Steem or sbd someone's account
  • *Powering up or down of Steem power"
  • Changing one's account settings.

Note: never give the active key to someone or never use it outside the steemit platform.

💥Owner Key

As the name implies, the owner key is a powerful key that distinguishes the authentic owner of the account from non authentic owner. This key can be used to do almost anything with one's account up to resetting one's account.

💥Memo key

This key is only during transfer of funds to other account. It's function is to encrypt memo during the transfer.

💥How do you plan to keep your master password?

I know the most important thing to keep pertaining to my steemit account is the master password. I have kept it offline as well as written it down.

💥Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

It is evident that I know how to transfer Steem tokens from my account to another account. The evidence is on my Steem wallet as it can be seen that I have made many transfers.

💥Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

Yes I know how to power up my Steem. I have powered up several times.

In conclusion, I thank those that have been guiding me right from the beginning. Those that are always correcting my mistakes. I may not be able to mention all. However, I can do without mentioning these two senior steemians - @bossj23, @goodybest and @drhira.
