Hello steemains, this is my achievement 2 post about the basic security on steemit.security is paramount and we have to do what is necessary to secure accoun
The key is utilized to login to steemit.
Active key
Used for monentery and wallet related action,such as transfreing token or powering steem up.
This key is used to perform delicate tasks such as covering SBD ,powring up and powering down ,funds transfer, voting withness .it is also used to update profile detail and photos as well as place and order in the market
Onwer key
The keys is used to reset all other keys.it recomnd to keep it offline at all time ,if your it compromised used this key to recover it within 30 days.
It is used to recover an account that has been stolen or compromised .it is the most powerful of all onwer key itself .it is perferable to store this key offline
Memo key
Used to descrypt private tranfer memos.
This key is used when you are tranfering funds for encrypting and decrypting memos.you can use the pound/# singn before a memo to encrypt it .
How to keep your account secure
You can ensure your account is secure by always keeping .your master password very safe .Do not share it with any third party site .when logging in, use the appropriate key where neceassary.
Why you should be careful with your master key
The master key can be used to change every other key/password .if someone unscrupulous gets access to it , you can lose your account and everything in it .
What can you do if you lose your key/password
If you lose your keys, there's nothing you can do it.this is why your master password has to be shared somewhere relly safe .An offline storage is preferable in case of a data base crash or hard drive misfortune.
Different between master password and onwer password
The master password is basically used to make all the onwer key .the only time you would be needing your master password is when you want to recover you account .
steemit wallet
The steemit is identical to other crypto wallets, with some uniqueness.
The wallet contain 3 things .
• steem
•steem power
•steem Dollars(SBD)
The steem can be powered up to steem power. It can also b transfered to anothor account to trated on the market.
Steem power help your account influence. It is a way of inveting in steemit and you can alos liquodate it by powering down which take a 4 week duaration .
SBD can be exchanged in the market for steem and transfred to another account.
How to power up
Steem power ky
.1 First i login into my account.
.2 Then i checked my stee balance
.3 And then click on a small arrow and showing some options like power up & transfer.
- Then i click on power and then pot my steem amount and click on okay.
•Click in wallet from your profile.
•Click the drop down arrow in the steem balance and select the power up option.
•Put in the required detail in the nxt page that comes up confirm the power up.
How to transfer steem /SBD

- Then i click on transfer and then pot my steem amount and click on okay.
After logging in, click in "wallet"
•click the drop- down arrow on the steem sbd balance.
•select transfer
•input the desire amoumt and confirm.
