Betterlife - The Diary Game | July 20,2024 | A Day Without Internet Amidst National Uncertainty

Our country is going through a tough political situation , and for some days , everything has been out of control, forcing us to stay at home without internet access. The day started on a bad note as I couldn't communicate with my parents due to the lack of internet. Additionally , mobile banking services were inactive, preventing me from recharging my phone balance, which added to my frustration.

After waking up , I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. We had perviously made paratha and chicken curry from the previous day , which we used to complete our meal. I took my tea to the Balcony , but despite the peaceful surroundings, my mind was troubled. Although I couldn't communicate properly with my family back home in Dhaka, it was somewhat relieving to have my in-laws with me.

After breakfast, we gathered to watch the news and spent some time with my baby. Later, I returned to the kitchen to prepare lunch. My baby had requested chicken roast, so I decided to make it for her. With no outside activities to attend to, I had plenty of time to cook. I prepared chicken roast, vegetables, and polow, hoping to see my family's happy faces.

After lunch , I realized it had been a long time since I watched a movie on TV. The famous movie "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun" was on , so instead of napping , I decided to watch it. I've seen it countless times, but it still brought joy. By the time the movie ended , it was late afternoon.

My daughter and I decided to go for an evening walk. Spending quality mother-daughter time was refreshing. After returning home, we had our evening snacks. Without the internet, I found there was a lot of unspent time, so we decided to visit the vegetable market near our community. Our home was running low on vegetables, and it was a good opportunity to stock up. We went to the market, bought some vegetables, and took an interesting ride back home on a tom-tom rickshaw.

Despite our efforts to lead a normal life , we remained worried and upset about our country's current situation. As I walked home in the deep, dark night, I couldn't help but remember the recent incidents in our country and prayed for the departed souls. Insha'Allah, everything will improve soon.

The day marked by the absence of internet and the constant reminder of our nation's turmoil - was filled with household chores , family time , and moments of reflection. It reminded me of the importance of family and staying strong during tough times. May Allah help us through these challenges and bring peace to our country soon.
