Adventure Boat Trip : A Journey to Capture the Natural Environment and Beauty.
Hello Everyone. I am @shiftitamanna
From #Bangladesh
Greeting my dear Steemian friends. Welcome to my new travel post. Today I am here to present to you some of my wonderful boating experiences. A few days ago I visited a relative's house in Lakhohati village of Khulna and from there I came up with a fun boat trip experience which I am presenting to you now.
I visited my uncle's house and there are several small canals in my uncle's village which is mainly a branch of river Bhairav. After a visit to uncle's house, uncle took us all to enjoy a boat trip on a small canal near his house. I was very excited because I love these trips and at the same time I was more worried because I don't know how to swim. I along with my sister and many others reach a branch of river Bhairav or a small canal near uncle's house for boat trip and then board the boat.
As soon as I boarded the boat I was quite scared because it was a boat without an engine and I had never been on such a boat before. Also I see a narrow river channel there which is called khal in village parlance. All these canals are mainly man-made and all these canals originate from rivers. People of our country dig many canals for agriculture and the water of these canals comes from rivers. When the water in the river increases, the water in these canals also increases and when the water in the river decreases, the water in these canals also dries up. We had a total of six people in the boat and then the boatman started steering the boat in the calm water of the canal.
During the boat ride I was feeling pretty good how are you the surroundings were mesmerizing. Moreover, I personally love the village so much that I enjoy the nature of the village and everything about the village. But sometimes I felt quite scared because the boat rocked a lot. But the relief was that the water inside the canal was less and the depth of the canal was less. Sitting on the boat during the boat trip, I record a short video and thus our boat moves forward.
After the boat moved forward for some time the depth of water around our boat increased and the canal widened. At the same time the view of canal bank started looking better than before. We all enjoyed such boat trips. Village people use these boats to carry all their essential goods from one village to another which is very easy to carry. I came to know about the importance of this canal and boats from the members of my uncle's house who were on the boat during the boat trip.
After a short boat ride we see a bamboo shack built on the canal. Those who live in rural areas will recognize bamboo boats as they are built to cross canals or small water bodies. When I myself go for a visit to our village Tangail, I see bamboo poles on some of the ponds there and the people of the village walk across the ponds on those poles. Then our boatman steers the boat consciously and crosses the Sanko from under the bamboo Sanko.
As our boat moves forward past the bus channel we all notice one thing and that is the water level is very low in some places and high in other places. Also all the trees above the canal are leaning towards the canal. All these trees should fall into the canal in any storm or big wind.
After moving the boat further ahead our thoughts came true and we saw some trees lying in the canal in front of our boat. We clearly understood that these trees were in the canal and that they were caused by the breach of the canal bank or by the wind blowing the trees into the canal. Then between our boats again skillfully moved forward past the trees lying in the canal.
Already we have traveled about 1 km by boat and we are still enjoying the wonderful beauty of canal bank. After our boat went further we saw clear water inside the canal and the scenery along the canal became more beautiful. Then we saw 1 more bamboo shack built over the canal and then again we carefully crossed the bamboo shack. I liked the surrounding environment so much that I took a short video of the place on my mobile.
As we had traveled by boat for a long time we were all quite tired so we decided to return home. Whenever we decide to go back home we see in front of the canal there are lotus flowers in the canal. Shapla is the national flower of our Bangladesh and people of our country cook various curries with the lower part of this flower. Then our boat was driven further forward and we picked up some shapala from it while floating in the boat.
After picking Shapla flowers we turned our boat again and left for home. Every moment of the journey was very enjoyable for me as I had never traveled by boat in such a body of water before. To be honest this beautiful view of the village will take away anyone's mind and I personally enjoyed this trip a lot too. However, we continued to enjoy the atmosphere as our boat moved through the canal again. The various trees on the bank of the canal seemed to fall into the canal.
After some time of journey we returned to our previous place and by now we had a wonderful boat trip experience. As we had been on the boat for quite some time we needed to finish our light breakfast from the small shop before returning home for which we went to a small shop on the canal side and drank tea and ate biscuits from there.
We went to the tea shop mainly to relax and had a light meal there. After resting for a while at the tea shop, I started walking towards home again along the village road. One thing I noticed is that this village has the most palm trees and coconut trees which I like a lot. Because dates and coconuts are my favorite foods which are grown the most in the village.
About 2 hours and 30 minutes after leaving home, we return back to our home and then we all freshen up and have lunch. To be honest I really liked this new experience of boating and I want to do my boating again later.

Mam, the journey of your boating is so beautiful and filled with many adorable scenes of nature. During your trip in Lakhohati village, you experience some pleasant moments when you go through the canals that are near your uncle’s house. The experience which you have described is like – the calm water of the canals, the leaning trees over the canal, the bamboo shacks, and also the beautiful Shapla flower with which I can relate. Though you were nervous about your first-time boat trip, you enjoyed the trip. Yes, in time visiting the village, I have also seen these pools which are made of bamboo by the villagers. You and your sister take a break and have tea and biscuits at the canal side tong shop, which must give good memories to you.
